First time lip filler patients 💋

It can be intimidating to receive lip filler (or any other cosmetic injection) for the first time. I believe that educating patients allows them to make the best decisions and also helps them know what to expect. This is the beginning of a series of “what to do” and “what not to do” before and after treatments.

1. Contact your provider if you are prone to cold sores as lip injections can trigger an outbreak. You may need to take prophylactic medication starting a couple days before your appointment.

2. Order VitaLips. It’s a specially formulated recovery balm intended for use after lip injections to speed up the healing process. That means less downtime! Link is in my bio.

3. Avoid blood thinners. They increase bruising. And yes… that includes alcohol, sorry!

4. Take arnica. Yes! They make it in pill form that you take by mouth. It’s a natural anti-inflammatory that can lessen bruising and swelling.

Although sometimes it’s just genetic, as we age we can develop a tear trough deformity which causes our under eye area to look darker and sunken in. Oftentimes there is also a loss of fatty tissues in the cheek area as well which can make it look worse. Revolumizing the mid cheek area and adding carefully placed filler into the tear troughs can help you look more refreshed. Results last about a year or more and because of the technique I use (cannula), most patients don’t experience any bruising and go right back to work.
