Fun fact: The term ‘skin purging’ refers to a reaction to an active ingredient that is increasing skin cell turnover rate.

As skin cell turnover speeds up, the skin starts shedding dead skin cells faster than normal.

This is why you’ll see a blemish or two pop up after applying certain products. Everything under the surface that isn’t visible to the eye, will make its way up. This is a GOOD sign.

Stick through this ‘it gets worse before it gets better’ phase.

If you want to be cautious, switch to a more gentle skin care routine by avoiding exfoliating agents & renoids because these are the products that caused the ‘skin purging’ to begin in the first place.
