So my kidd asked me to do a thing.🫣🤯 LOC REMOVAL! 🥹😍 This was Bittersweet.

Jefe asked that his Locs be removed but he said he wasn’t ready for a haircut. He’s only had his hair cut once in his life and he thinks he looked funny looking lol he requested to go back to braids for now!

Since he could talk his father and I always try to include him where we see fit for decisions concerning him such as his hair! I think we were both shocked because when he asked for Locs 2 years ago we explained to him that when he reaches pubescent age they’d have to be removed for religious purposes… He beat us to that lol🤭
He was amazed at how long his hair was after all the dead hair that was removed from the Locs.

After 20 hours (5 hours for fours days) his curl pattern still intact, we did a full hydration treatment, scalp cleanse and trim. On a flip side I am happy they’re gone because the buildup and maintenance is a different task when dealing with kids with Locs. Buildup from sweat, dirt, lint and who knows whatever else.. Loc Detoxes aren’t always enough to remove it all. It was a fun journey to witness nonetheless. ☺️🤍
