Brooke was the first Apprentice in 2005 and now Brooke is the first to reach a 20 Year AmMoversary.

Through leadership changes, multiple locations, a pandemic, expansions and consolidations Brooke showed up to each day ready to share her incredible talents, humor and heart with clients and coworkers.

We’re eternally grateful for the two decades of B.D. we’ve had and for very day we have in front of us!

While this day in Galveston in 1865 marked the end of a shameful part of our country’s history, the efforts to repair harm and create equity continue today.

In honor of Juneteenth, we want to spotlight local Black-Owned businesses that are personal favorites of our team and are adding to the cultural fabric of our city!

1040Creative! is a cultural hub and gallery from founder and multi-media artist and activist Pauline Houston McCall that offers art classes and pop-up workshops for all ages.

Black Dragon offers a fusion of Black American cuisine and classic Chinese American takeout presentation and aesthetics. Chef Kurt Evan’s mission is to honor both Black and Chinese American culture while hopefully providing quick, hot (and delicious) meals in communities where they are not always readily available.

Kylie Rose Fashion. One brand, 2 lines. KRF creates elegant couture dresses for events and offers a streetwear line, consisting of t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies and matching track/sweatsuit sets!

South Street Art Mart. This Indie Art shop boasts really cool s**t, from over 180 local artists. Also Q***r Woman owned, the DIY, punk roots are palpable in everything they sell!

Style by Blain. Offering high-end classic and custom footwear, founder Voltaire Blain has eschewed online sales in favor of a customer-service focused experience. Visit his shop to see exquisite shoes displayed on the antique pool table and the paintings of dandily-dressed anthropomorphized animals.
