I was lazy with my workout today.

I had beef stroganoff earlier for lunch, and it definitely hit me. Due to my Crohn’s I can’t eat beef, but I was craving it……

So I talk about my Crohn’s a lot. We don’t give enough attention to the invisible diseases. I have had signs of Crohn’s since I was 12, but wasn’t diagnosed till during Covid. It gets slowly worse and worse. I went from 85lb to 120lb after spending 5 years figuring out what I can gain weight on and what I can’t gain weight on. Carbs I don’t get any weight from, but certain fats and animals I can. It took me a long time to figure out how to gain weight. And it’s difficult, because when I would eat, I would get sick after. Roman candle sick, nausea, hot/cold flashes, cramps, faintish, gas, dizziness, sometimes blood, and to get this after you eat, makes it hard to eat.

I’m supposed to be at least bare min of 110 because I take adderal (well I’m supposed to…,,) for my narcolepsy, and it makes you loose weight. And naturally I have underweight issues and malnourished issues, so my dr wanted me to gain weight.

I got into doing OCRs, specifically Spartan, as a way to motivate myself. I started working out when my dr voiced concern about how underweight I was and lacking nutrients. I joined a gym and they asked me my goals and I didn’t know. So I figured, look good? So I got into bodybuilding. I joined a Facebook group for it, and they asked me the same questions, what were my goals? And I didn’t know. I heard of Spartan but I never gotten into it. I found out they were going to have a Spartan race in town im February of 2022. So I thought I would sign up for the super. I thought I was young enough to handle it, how hard can it be? I arrived and my hip dislocated on the second wall. (I have EDS: ehler Dalos Syndrome, that causes me to be hypermobile) that causes me to have sharp pain for the rest of the race. Two men were kind enough to let me join them, so I finished the race with them in pain. But once I got to the finish line, and they gave me that medal, that pain I felt was worth it. I wanted to cry so much, but no way I was going to cry in front of men. PShh I ended up getting rhabdomyolysis from this race since I didn’t properly train, but I was hooked from then on!! So then went on my diet and training. I did the sprint and beast later that year and got the trifecta. And guess what, at my last dr apt they said my vitals were perfect! I am finally healthy!!

I’ve since created a group of OCR runners called Masochistic Walkers. We are people with all sorts of misc handicaps that still want to push our bodies to the limit!
