What are AHA’s & BHA’s?

AHA’s are water soluble ingredients that help exfoliate dead skin cells, help with collagen production, increase the skins cell turnover rate etc.

BHA’s are oil soluble meaning they can pe*****te deeper into the skin to help unclog pores. This ingredient dissolves the bond between the cells so the dead skin can slough right off.

Some popular AHA’s are Glycolic acid, Lactic acid, & Mandelic acid.

Glycolic acid has a smaller molecular structure than all of the AHA’s therefore it is able to pe*****te deeper than others. This acid helps with cell turnover, brighten and smooth the skin’s texture.

Lactic acid is known for being the most hydrating acid. This provides a much less irritating exfoliation than glycolic. This ingredient will help to increase the skins natural moisture as well as brightening the skin.

Mandelic acid with having its largest molecular structure provides a very even gentle exfoliation. This is a great ingredient that helps with improving overall texture & tone. This is good for oily & acenic skin due to its antibacterial and sebum-regulation properties.

Salicylic acid the most common BHA. Salicylic is great for oily & acneic skin because it is oil soluble meaning it can get deep down into the pores to help unclog them. It also has antibacterial & anti-inflammatory properties.
