A lot of young entrepreneurs follow me & I always get asked “How do you stay so motivated to keep going?”
I am coming up on almost 4 years of being a solo esthetician. I started at 19 when my original plan wasn’t to start until 25. Because I started earlier, I spent the first 2 years comparing myself to estheticians who were solo for 5+ years. I would catch myself spiraling wondering why I wasn’t as successful or far along as them.
In the past year or so, the biggest thing I have learned is that my path is MY path. I am exactly where I’m supposed to be. Am I the most successful esthetician? No. I am giving myself the grace to grow into one? Yes.
Learning that things don’t happen overnight & success doesn’t come easy. Not that I expect it to, but just that sometimes you don’t see how much growth you’ve made until you look back & realize that the version of me who was just starting out would be shocked I’ve made even this far. Ok
