Formulating new scents…

Any guesses what scent I’m researching… and what state it’s for? 😂

And then there were three 🤍

Jenn and I have known each other for several years, and the second she heard I was hiring, she was interested

Jenn has a background in herbs, skincare, and an incredible eye for detail. She caught on unbelievably fast and is now in the workshop every week making soap, preparing batches for packaging, and consistently keeping the entire studio clean and organized (thank you!!!)

Consistency is one of those qualities that doesn’t always get celebrated, but it’s one of the things I appreciate most about her. She shows up, takes pride in her work, and genuinely cares about what we’re creating.

Naked Fig is stronger with her here and I’m incredibly grateful she’s part of this little team 🤍🤍🤍

Earlier this spring, I packed up part of my market display into suitcases and flew to Colorado to attend Spa Collab Denver 🤍

Spa Collab brings together spa directors, estheticians, and wellness brands to connect, learn, and discover products for their businesses. I love that the day begins with a wellness activity (this year it was yoga!) before everyone comes together for the event.

This is also where I met Ella Cressman, owner of Ella Cressman Skincare and my very first Colorado stockist 🤍 Since then, she’s already placed a reorder, which has been such an exciting milestone for the Colorado Collection.

If you’re near Wheat Ridge and need to restock your Naked Fig favorites, she’s got you covered. 🤍

P.s. thank you for making me this custom sweatshirt- I love it!

The Colorado Collection… in miniature🤍

Things of note:

• We’re working on bringing all five Colorado scents to the mini collection
• Perfect for gifting, traveling, or just being really, (REALLY) cute
• Packaged in plant-based PLA sleeves instead of traditional plastic

🤍

Before a state soap collection is created, I spend time getting to know the place 🤍

I visit. I ask questions. I pay attention.

What plants are native here? What do the seasons smell like? What stories keep coming up when people talk about where they live?

Over time, those details begin to shape the scents, designs, and colors that become a collection.

My hope is that each collection tells a small part of the story of the place that inspired it. 🤍

Colorado Blue Spruce 🤍

When I first started exploring Colorado through the lens of scent, this one felt like a no-brainer. The OG of the Colorado Collection.

The Colorado blue spruce is the state tree, and its silvery-blue needles are found throughout the Rocky Mountains and foothills (where I’ve spent the most time exploring).

This scent sent me down a rabbit hole. At first glance, spruce, pine, and fir all smell like “evergreens.” The more I explored, the more I realized they each have their own personality.

Spruce feels crisp and sharp to me… like crisp mountain air, forest trails, and winter.

When you smell a blue spruce, pine, or fir tree, do they smell different to you? And if so, how would you describe the difference?

P.s. Did you know the blue color of a blue spruce comes from a waxy coating on the needles that helps protect the tree from Colorado’s harsh mountain climate? Nature is so cool.

This spring, I had the opportunity to work alongside Emma as we tested new manufacturing systems, streamlined processes, and made a LOT of soap.

Emma finished out her senior year at ASU and is headed off to California for her dream internship with Disney, and we are SO excited for her 🤍

I’m incredibly grateful for the time we had with her at Naked Fig. She stepped in during a season when I really needed help and quickly became an important part of the team. Emma is dependable, efficient, and genuinely invested in supporting the work around her.

One of my favorite parts of working with Emma was getting to hear about her senior projects and watch her pursue her own goals at the same time she was helping us move ours forward.

She made being a boss easy, and I’m incredibly grateful for everything she contributed during her time here.

Wishing you the absolute best, Emma 🤍
