I definitely do! I first toured Firefly Collective as a possible place to work in 2018. It was still under construction at the time but I fell in love and I knew immediately that if I ever decided to make a leap to work for myself, Firefly was where I would work. That day, I took a picture of the station I loved most and wanted if I ever moved there. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

A year later, I signed a lease at Firefly. My desired station wasn’t available at the time, so I happily selected another one. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

I only worked in that station for 4mos. Then it became available, it was offered to me and I took it! ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

I wholeheartedly believe that the universe knew from that first tour, before I even knew I would work at Firefly, that my favorite station would eventually be mine. The universe delivered when I was ready. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Playing in the pool this summer? 🏊‍♀️ Help your hair stay healthy with these pro tips:

🌱Get your hair wet before you hop in. Your hair is like a dry sponge when going under water. Submerge a dry sponge and it soaks up EVERYTHING! Submerge an already wet sponge and it’s absorbing much less 💦

🌱 Apply a conditioner, leave-in or hair mask to your wet hair before jumping in. This helps create another layer of protection to defend against chlorine absorption.

🌱 Always fully wash and condition your hair as soon as you can after swimming. Don’t just rinse. Wash and condition!

🌱 Clarify periodically. Chlorine builds up fast and can cause hair to be lifeless, dull, tangly or unmanageable. It can also interfere with color services. It needs to be fully removed for optimal hair health. A clarifying shampoo is designed to help strip away excess product buildup, mineral build up and chlorine. But be careful! The wrong clarifying shampoo will strip your color away fast! I love the Swimmers Wellness Remedy by Malibu C. It’s gentle on color and can be used regularly to remove chlorine and maintain hair health during swimming season.

🌱 Don’t forget to deep condition after every clarifying wash. Clarifying shampoos can be drying and you’ll need to replace moisture afterwards.

🌱 Lastly, wear a hat! Your hair needs to be protected from the sun just like your skin!

Have you ever just needed a break? A time to shut out the noise and double down on finding your Chi?

Well, that’s where I’ve been the last year! I needed to step away from social for a spell and spend some time learning to love myself more, seek a better understanding of my authentic self and just show up 100% for myself and my family for awhile. The break was much longer than expected but much needed to recenter and find my way again.

The last 3 days, I’ve been attending a business building and strategizing conference with hundreds of other hairstylists and beauty professionals from around the country. Wow, what an experience!

I realized it’s time to come back and join you all online again. I want to show up differently for you this time and while I don’t yet know exactly how I’m going to do that, I do know that I’m committed to show up more authentically in a way I haven’t tried before.

Want to try a new color but aren’t ready to commit?

It’s possible! Amanda was ready to try something new and told me she’d always loved reds and purples. She wasn’t sure she wanted to go with it long-term, though. By using a Demi-permanent color, we were able to achieve vibrant and shiny results with no commitment, allowing her to try out some of the tones she’d always dreamed of but still have the freedom to change things up and experiment with other colors moving forward.

With Demi-permanent color, the color gradually fades off vs growing out, leaving no harsh lines at the point of regrowth. It lasts up to 24 washes and doesn’t shift or change her natural hair either so when she comes back in, we’ll have the freedom to go with the same or try something new!

I cried gigantic tears of pride this morning when this was her answer to my question of what were some of the biggest lessons she learned in middle school.
