How cool is this!

07/02/2025

Celebrating my 8th year on Facebook. Thank you for your continuing support. I could never have made it without you. 🙏🤗🎉

planning a trip to Arizona soon? this is a great spot to add to your itinerary. the entire lake mead area is full of outdoor activities, and we love visiting when the weather cools down…now is the perfect time!

It is located along the Colorado river and can be accessed by kayaking or hiking. The general area is near Lake Mead / Hoover Dam.

The trail is closed from May 15 - September 30 each year due to extremely hot weather.
I still recommend checking the weather, and bringing plenty of food and water.
Start early to avoid major sun exposure 🖤 This trail can be VERY hot. Do not hike in the middle of the day in warmer months.

To hike, it is about 6 miles roundtrip, 1200’ elevation gain. please plan according to your ability 🏔

Make sure to bring plenty of water, sun protection, a headlamp (if leaving early), emergency items you may typically take hiking, towel and water shoes (if you choose). I recommend a map, as well!

Lake mead charges a recreation fee to enter (per vehicle)

Always remember to #leavenotrace 👏🏻 leave the area even better than how you found it! It is so important so people can enjoy this area for generations to come. please take your towel, trash, and personal belongings with you when you leave!

Always research and plan ahead. I love google maps and All Trails for route planning, tips and current conditions.

there is a slight danger from a rare bacteria - do not put your head underwater.

Stay on the trail

Be respectful of others hiking in the area 🙏🏻

I highly recommend starting early🤞🏼😎

This spot is Arizona Hot Springs / Ringbolt Hot Springs. There is a road sign for it right off the highway.

12 months, 12 hikes, 1 unforgettable year exploring Arizona’s hiking trails. 🌵

From snowy Sedona to desert blooms, I hiked (at least) one trail for every month, soaking in all the incredible seasons this state has to offer. Whether it was chasing wildflowers in spring, cooling off in swimming holes during summer, or wandering through the golden aspens, Arizona’s trails never disappointed

As 2024 wraps up, I’m grateful for a year that reminded me you don’t have to go far to find adventure.

If anyone can help me find 21 copies of this book for my class, I would be so grateful. I’d be even happier if I could get it for less than two dollars a copy. If anyone has connections, please let me know. End of the year gift for my students.
