Botox looks so easy, right?? and it takes 5 minutes ….
Oh boy….get ready to be humbled.
Botox is technically harder than filler, and patients want it perfect. If you don’t nail it the first time (or come close to nailing it), you’ll probably never see them again.
💫My advice: Bring every single patient back in 2-3 weeks in the beginning. See what your tox dosing and patterns are doing to your patients. They want to be seen for follow up…. Especially if something doesn’t look right 🤨
Okay so filler must be the “easier” injectable then, right?? WRONG AGAIN 😌
The complexities of filler are extensive.
Skin necrosis, blindness and stroke are what we’re risking while injecting a little gel to contour a cheek or give a little lip plump 😳 Knowing anatomy is paramount.
Patients are also coming in expecting instagram - worthy before and afters with one syringe of filler. So setting realistic expectations is the first order of business.
💫My advice: Under promise and over deliver. Patients will respect you more if you give them realistic expectations of what 1ml of injectable gel can do to the face. Unless you’re putting it in the lips, 1ml produces a VERY subtle result.
Lastly …. If you’re thinking about getting into aesthetics just to get away from bedside nursing, you probably won’t last here. The industry is extremely competitive and over saturated, and you really have to have a passion for learning about anatomy, the products, and the art of consultation.
