Color correction in process ✨

My girly wanted to have her hair completely darkened back to her natural and some highlights popping through.

We did a three step process where I first did a global gloss. Normally I will go in with a gloss in between foils to mute brassy tones or take the overall look darker, but we simply had too much ground to cover and wanted to keep things easy and also consistent.

I then highlighted her to a level 8 and toned back to a 7. I had to melt her roots down and there was also some residual warmth left that needed additional coverage anyways.

I was transparent with her by telling her that her highlights were not gonna be as bright because we did her hair in this format, but overall it would be more cohesive.

We will need another round of some lowlights, highlights and melting ✨

I’m proud of this hair more so because I broke from my typical foiling pattern to deliver exactly what she wanted. Instead of keeping it super lived in, we opted to create more dimension and “chunkier” highlights all while keeping that blend. ✔️

Little foiling details that I love ✨

The back of your hair is just as important as the front, but I try to be intentional when I foil the back- I like to leave some of the natural hair do its thing and not over foil to leave the perfect amount of dimension ✨ The blonde will pop even more, trust me!

One of the most important parts of your hair color is your face framing (“money piece”) 🖼️

I always ask in my consultations several things about your face framing:

- Do you pull your hair up?
- Do like a bolder or more softened frame?
- Are you okay with a harsher grow out with a bolder frame?
- Are we liking the framing we did last time or do we need to scale things back and soften?
- Do you want your frame around your part line to be even brighter than the rest of your highlights?
- Behind your ear (which is part of your face frame IMO), do you care if it’s dark underneath or do we want to lighten that up as well?

These are just some questions and things I think about and think to ask when I customize for appointment for you 🔑
