Part 2 - The process of hydrating hair involves increasing the amount of water content within the hair strand. This can be achieved directly by wetting the hair or indirectly through humectants. Humectants are substances which attract water from the air and are often found in shampoos, conditioners and finishing products.

Hair that needs to be hydrated tends to be brittle, feel hard and lack shine.
