Yesterday was something that words cannot sum up accurately. I went into the Adopt-A-Grandparent initiative (thank you for the beautiful idea) hoping to be a blessing to some people on a day that is supposed to be filled with love. Only to discover that I was the one who was blessed the most.

This is only a small capture of the number of people we encountered but my husband and I were so touched by these sweet souls. One in particular, Valerie, broke my heart. I laid the flower on her table and her lip began to quiver and she started to cry. I found out that she gets no visitors.

If there is one thing that I can share with you it is this. Visit your family if they are in a nursing home or assisted living facility. They need you and it means the world to them. Another thing I am certain of, it will actually leave your soul fed when you leave.
