HELP! Hair turned GREEEEEN. Seriously like, Joker green. But here’s why...
After all of these years in this industry, one of the things I learned way back in beauty school came to fruition. Medicine can interfere with hair color. In this case, anesthesia. This beauty came back from college to visit and to have her wisdom teeth removed (with anesthesia). She wanted her hair done before moving on to grad school. Her hair is incredibly thick but was virgin and I couldn’t wait to get in there and make things happen. Imagine my surprise when I pulled the foils to what looked like soggy spinach! Fortunately, I kept my wits and also kept her calm. Of course we’ve all seen color mishaps in our careers, but this was medicinal and not a color faux pas. I immediately clarified her hair to make sure there was no residue left. The fix was easy, thank goodness. After doing several test strands underneath, I decided on Pravana Rose Gold to counteract the green, leaving it processing for 30 minutes. I shampooed with Formula 18 Color Keeper shampoo and then applied a fantastic conditioning treatment with Formula 18’s mask with addictive to bring her tresses back to soft and beautiful. The results are amazing and she is thrilled. I certainly hope to never see this color green again, especially if I’m not trying for green but I am so happy with the end result.
