Over the years I have met so many fantastic people that I feel we have gone through so much together. We’ve celebrate, laughed, learned from each other, and cried together. Since I don’t come from a large family, I’ve always considered my clients and co-workers to be family. I want to thank everyone who continues to be part of my “family” as we celebrate our successes and there when times aren’t great.

Toning only take 5 minutes or keep on a little longer to really enhance the colors. For this client who’s blonde when a little too light on vacay, I mixed 2 parts diamond with 1 part smokey quartz with some clear. This really closes the cuticle and creates so much shine to the hair. Are you into natural remedies like me? This is Kathleen is the founder of .apothecary An herbologist that grows all of her own herbs and blends them into different solutions to help heal people. If this sounds familiar, you might have seen her Saturdays at the Delaware farmers markets.

Kathleen and I actually went to high school together. Even though we weren’t super close back then, we have certainly become great friends. I was honored to help her with her hair and makeup for her wedding to Shad, and now with her hair. She is an invetentive and knowledgeable lady that is fun to keep up with.

Who knew so much could change in 5 years???
March 18th, 2020 is a hard day for many of us to forget. It was the day I never thought could happen. We were told we had to shut our businesses down until it was safe to open. I ended up texting a few of my clients for the week, and then working on the two Diane’s in at the end of my day. I ended up leaving the salon at 2:30 in the morning. I didn’t know how long we would be shut down or anything else. We finally got to reopen 8 1/2 weeks later. Only 1 person at a time wearing masks, extra clean up and more.

Since that day has been so much loss. My husband and I moved my parents out of my childhood home after my dad got ill. We lost our dog Mr Man in June 2021 then my mom in Oct 2023, our dog Schnoozer in Jan 2024 and my dad in Nov 2024. Also my mother in law fought lung cancer and won in Aug 2023, while ai lost a few other clients to covid and other diseases.
On the other hand I had some good things like a remodel to my studio in Feb 2023, selling our 1st Lewis Center home and buying our dream home in (with many hiccups) in July 2024.
All of these changes makes me beyond thankful for all of those that have been there for my family and I. I wouldn’t know where we would be without you all. Thank you for reading my Ted Talk 🤪🤣

Meet Morgan Delande (with her husband Chase).

Morgan started coming to me when she was going to college at Ohio University, she needed help with her hair extensions that were done in her home state of Vermont for her super thin hair. Right away we became instant friends. Morgan has the most magnetic energy, which anyone who has met her will attest to.

After college Morgan went to Florida for some additional training to become a medical sales representative, when she finished and was interviewing she came back to Ohio looking to start her career. During that time, my husband and I had the opportunity to have her stay with us. Shortly after she landed her first sales position which she has totally mastered. Then she met her sole mate, Chase, whom they married this past August, and we were fortunate to go to the beautiful wedding.

Morgan, Chase, and their golden doodle Maple live in Hilliard.

Balancing work life and home life sometimes is hard, but having the ability to work for myself has been so rewarding. I started working for myself back in August 2001. Back then I didn’t even know about hair extensions other than for black gals. Then I had a few co-workers starting to learn about them, but seeing how back then the keratin bonds had to use acetone on them to get them out, I didn’t want to do any damage to my clients hair, so I avoided doing them. Once I learned about microbeads I started practicing doing them and finally did my first 2 sets on a couple of ladies back in 2009 😳. Fast forward to these days where so many advances in hair extensions has happened, I now offer many more types, with a few more on their way. Stay tuned for some exciting announcements.
