Wow!
What a whirlwind it has been lately.
Starting in December I think I have finally found my final “home” back in Montecito and I can’t be happier. Dadiana’s in the upper village. What a great group of individuals. I love my new home!

Just when I was getting settled the Thomas fire broke out in Santa Paula and blew clear to Montecito taking out the Ventura mountains with it. From work we had a birds eye view of the mountains out our front window and we watched the record setting fire for days.
Then when we thought we were out of danger a freak storm blew in and dropped four inches of rain in less than thirty minutes in the canyons and town. Because of the massive deluge, mud slides devastated several areas of town taking dwellings and life with it.

So I was uprooted again for three weeks.
I packed all my supplies from home (because of the mandatory exclusion areas while they are clearing the damage in town) and got on the surf-liner and headed to Santa Barbara to work in a different salon. Giving a shout out to Diane for finding us a place to work and also a big thanks to Crystal at Charm Salon for being such a terrific host.

I am back in my new home and seeing clients again, and grateful that the disaster impacting the community wasn’t worse. My heart goes out to the residents who lost their homes and family members, as I have become a long time member of the community through my experiences working here.

Starting tomorrow, Nails By Laura will open at our new location! Specializing in Gels, Manicures and Pedicures, and taking walk ins when available! Check out our new location!
