This client thought she was a lot more gray than she was, about 70% when in reality, she was only about 15 to 20% percent Gray. This happens a lot with brunettes because the non-pigmented hairs are so visually distracting that the client imagines that there are much more of them than there are.

She was anxious about the process of Gray blending, and was very pleasantly surprised at the results of her first session. The end result is genuinely not scary, and makes one wonder whether the effort of covering so few grays was ever worth it at all.

This client was initially taken aback by her color after her first gray blending appointment. Her husband loved it, but she felt like the change was too much. We went back and forth a few times, and now she’s once again leaning into cooler and lighter tones. I love it every time, but this might be a favorite 💃

This client wasn’t as great as she thought she was going to be.
When she decided to embark on a Gray blending journey, she had imagined that her hair had a much higher percentage of Gray than it actually does. She was hoping for a big money piece or a Cruella Deville-like pop of Gray, but in reality she had a little gray sprinkled throughout her hair.
We were able to arrive at a color that blurs the line of demarcation from her old retouch and softens her new growth so that she can go several months in between appointments.

This is not a picture I would normally post. This client needed a color correction and had a limited budget. These are the results I was able to get for her in one session working within her budget.

I’m posting it to show that even if a client doesn’t have the budget for what they want, there’s always something that can be done to move the needle in the direction that they’re wanting. This client needed to look a certain way for an event, and plans to continue on with her color correction as her budget allows.
I was able to work within her budget and get her hair to a place where it looked appropriate and intentional for the event that she’s attending.

This client was already getting highlights to blend her gray when she first came to me. It looked all right, but was getting brassy and little too blonde.

We did baby lights to pick up the Gray, which is mainly just around her face. And then we lowlighted her to bring back her dimension, which actually makes her blonde look brighter.

Lastly, we toned her with something to eradicate warmth, which will extend her maintenance as her regrowth comes in.
