The full moon in April is traditionally called the Pink Moon, and in 2026 it reaches peak fullness on April 1 at about 10:11–10:12 p.m. Eastern Time.

The name has nothing to do with the Moon turning bright pink. It comes from pink phlox, one of the early flowers associated with spring in North America.

Like other full moons, it will appear full and bright through the night, and it can sometimes look more golden, orange, or slightly rosy near the horizon because of Earth’s atmosphere. The April full moon is also the first full moon of spring in the Northern Hemisphere in 2026.

Did you know the “Pink Moon” is usually not pink at all, or would that name have fooled you?

One of this weeks meal prep dishes. Wild salmon with mango salsa and jasmine rice with toasted coconut and macadamia nuts. This went so good paired with my pineapple topped with candied ginger.
