WE HAVE FOSTER OFFER BUT NEED A RESCUE! BERENICE #A1605696 🌸 10 yr. old, 62 lb. Female We’re begging our community to help save Berenice! After being dumped by a breeder (who claimed she was a stray), the shelter immediately gave her a deadline even though she’s not suffering! She deserves so much better than this! Berenice was brought in on 9/19 by someone who claimed he found her. As it turns out, her microchip traced right back to her “finder,” who has a breeder’s license — and he dumped her with what looks like cancer in her mammary glands. 😥 To make matters worse, her first time in the system was on 1/10/16 when she was only 2 yrs. old & pregnant, and she was redeemed by this person three days later. God only knows how many times this poor dog has been bred over these last 8 years. And now, her life’s at risk because the shelter has given her until 10/4 to be saved or she’ll be euthanized.💔 This dog is SO unbelievably soft & loving and immediately grabs your heart. All she wants is stay close for pets and hugs & is grateful for your attention & tenderness. She’s been calm with other dogs through the fence & passing kennels. In playgroup, she’s more comfortable around people & avoided interacting with other dogs. When one pup invaded her space, she got defensive, so we recommend she be the only dog in the home OR slow intros with another calm dog and a savvy handler. 🔶 MEDICAL NOTES: 1) Multiple darkly pigmented SC mammary masses 2) Multiple darkly pigmented skin lesions on ventral abdomen 3) Senior pet. Requires spay & multiple mass removals with biopsies & staging to assess metastasis. Berenice is as sweet & wonderful as they come.
