Wishing all of my guests a wonderful Christmas from the heart of my home to yours. May your season be merry, peaceful, surrounded by grace and love. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for another year of your love, trust and valuable continued patronage. You fed me with endless opportunities to be inspired, challenged my skills and sharpened my vision for what I do. I am grateful and I look forward to another year of dedicating my crafts to you. Pictured above is of my three year old nephew Hiro. He became a light in my life the day he was born and although he’s only three, he has shown up bedside during every single of my hospital stay during the past three years. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! ❤️❤️❤️

I want to express my most sincere thanks to all of my dear clients who have been nothing but gracious and patient during my medical recovery journey. It warmed my heart and made me so grateful as a hair stylist to check my schedule for December and saw that appointments are booking up quick. I am still working on my recovery but that alone gives me even more motivation to get better and give you my best work. I am thrilled and I cannot wait to see you in a couple weeks!

To all my Gene Juarez guests.
Hello and I hope you’re doing well. I wanted to apologize for missing you in the salon for the last 12 days. I have been in the hospital being gravely ill trying to fix my ailments. On Sat Oct 16th, I checked myself into ER after two days of being home sick. I was in such excruciating pain for three days and by the time I reach ER triage, my blood lab results showing severe infection/sepsis in my gallbladder system. They immediately took me into emergency surgery to remove infected gallstones and to drain the system. With my history of heart issue, I went into cardiac arrest during the surgery but thankfully I was shocked back into life after a minute of my heart not beating. I was in the ICU up until they operated on my heart again on Tuesday to prevent another cardiac arrest in the future. I am home and working on healing my body now although I’m in good spirit, feeling thankful for the outcomes. My care team have strict order for me to be in bed rest for the next 4 weeks. I will be home working on getting better so I can be back with you in the beginning of December. Thank you for being patient and I look forward to seeing you on the other side. Until then, Addison!

During my 16 year career as a hairdresser, I was fortunate enough to meet many great people and I have always reminded myself how lucky I am to be included in their lives. This is why it is always a hard thing when it comes time to say goodbye. These are lit in your honor tonight, Kathie! You will always be missed and loved and when I see you again, I will give you the blowout of your life and get that French twist as perfect as it could be. Sleep well now and we will see each other again on the other side of the stars!

We’re open late today dues to inclement weather. Please DM me directly if you need to reschedule your appointment. Your safety is the utmost priority and I hope to see you soon!

Wishing everyone a wonderful start to 2025. I always loved welcoming the new year as though we’re starting a brand new page from our journal. It is often filled with dreams, goals and hope for the next 365 days. I am grateful for what 2024 taught me and I’d like to think that I walked away from last year a better person. I also wanted to thank you, my loyal clients for your continuing support throughout the highs and lows of 2024. Here is to a brand new beginning and one of my biggest hope for myself is that I am continuing to be healthy, motivated and passionate to serve you to the best of my ability. Happy New Year and here is to another year of great style and dressing in love!

It has been over a week since I got the news of you passing and I was having a hard time believing it until now. I missed a lot of chances to say goodbye in my life and this was one of the more difficult ones. Roxanne Tisdale was a giant driving force pushing me to become the hairdresser I am today and I haven’t stopped working for the last 15 years just so I could be as good a presence as she was to me. Her name was to be respected by the newbies at the Advanced Training Salon before we got the chance to have her standing next to us on the classroom floor. I remember her presence was majestic, a beautiful black woman with gorgeous long dreads and each step she took adorned by the sound of her bangles she wore on her wrists. Roxanne was the person to tell me to slow down and really focus on the person in my chair. For everyday I stood behind the chair during a decade and a half, those words rung in my ear and I would take a deep breath, push my shoulders back and slowly ran my fingers through my client’s hair the same way Roxanne did. The magic that she beheld was she was a woman of very few words but if you really listened, you would know that she gave so much of her knowledge through the power of her actions. Many generations of Gene Juarez hairdressers owned a lot of their careers to her and the pain of loosing her is still deeply felt among us. She left this earth with a great legacy to her students, colleagues and friends and that legacy is going to keep on inspiring me perhaps to the end of my life as a hairdresser. You sleep now, Roxanne! If there is such a place we call Heaven, I hope you get the chance to watch Alexander McQueen’s runway from the very front row where Raquel Zimmerman graced the opening of his Atlantis show. I hope you float among the clouds where you could exchange glances at Yves Saint Laurent and I hope you become such good friends with Coco Gabriel Chanel that she gifts you with one of her original maxi double flap lambskin Chanel bag. I will see you again! RIP ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
