FAQ # 1: How often should I be washing my hair?

Well, this partially has an impact on you, your hair, and your lifestyle.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Washing hair too often can put your scalp into shock to some extent causing it to dry out, or it can cause your scalp to go into overdrive in oil production. Excessive washing can fade your color/ toner prematurely, dry out your ends, and in Reno, it can speed up the hard water build up, in turn, dulling out your ends.

In a general suggestion, I advise washing your hair every 3-4 days depending on your lifestyle and needs. Unless you’re literally getting your hair muddy or soaking in chlorine, you can probably push your wash day.

Feel like you can’t feel clean unless you wash your hair? Try substituting one of your shampoos for just a wet down and condition approach to add some detangling and softening properties back in your ends but keep some of the moisture at your scalp.

As I occasionally do have cancellations for these tighter appointments, I wouldn’t want you to have to rely on cancellations to keep your look luscious.

This summer we were so blessed to be able to go all the places on many mini getaways. One of our favorite trips this summer was our regularly scheduled getaway to the desert with friends to Night in the Country.

Is this not such a versatile caramel mocha balayage?! Leilani began with just a few pops of caramel before eventually deciding to go all in and embrace the balayage for spring and summer.

I was raised in a small farming and beach town in Northern California (hello fellow bay arean’s that are familiar with Half Moon Bay!), where I spent the majority of my free time raising livestock for my local 4H and FFA chapters and playing a plethora of sports throughout the years. Following high school, prior to beauty school, I moved to Laramie, Wyoming to pursue my degree in Elementary and Special Education at the University of Wyoming (Go Pokes!). Though I loved my experience, it was time to follow my heart’s true interest to beauty school.
