It is with a heavy heart that I write today. As most of you know, I have spent my summer on maternity leave with my twins after years of infertility and IVF treatments. After a lot of internal struggle and some hard conversations with myself and trusted confidants; I have made the decision to stay on leave indefinitely. I am not sure when I will return behind the chair.
I want to take some time to focus on my family and have been given the opportunity to stay home and care for my children full time. I will also be helping my husband, Nick, get his home painting business going and supporting him administratively (House of Stiles Paint Co. coming soon! ). I don’t believe this will come as a shock to most of you that know me but also know this is hard news for a lot of you to hear. I cannot stress enough how difficult of a decision this has been for me and I hope that it doesn’t mean I will lose you from my life. Most of you already do but please feel free to follow along with me and the twins .stiles and keep in touch, I plan to keep my business phone number so text me anytime. Check your email for a similar note and some businesses and salons I love and trust. I will really miss time spent in my studio with each and every one of you.
I truly cannot thank you enough for supporting both myself and my family every time you supported my little business. Nothing humbles you quite like running a business does, but it was actually a successful venture because of each and every person who sat in my chair and lended me their time. I genuinely hope this is just a ‘see ya later’ for most of you and that we can find space in the world outside of my studio to continue relationships we have built. This is much more difficult than you could know. My deepest love to you all.

Hi friends! Happy New year!
It’s been a long time since I’ve shown my face in this space. I shared some of what my family has been going through with IVF. And honestly showing up here the past few months just felt unattainable. My mental health was not great so I focused my energy on the clients in my chair instead of this internet world. Sometimes Instagram feels like a place I HAVE to be and that actually makes it a million times harder for me to be here professionally.
I took some time off after the holiday to refocus and let myself rest. I’m really looking forward to connecting with you all again and making great hair in 2022. Thank you for showing me that I and my work mattered, even if we didn’t exist on the internet for a little while. It’s wild to believe that I’ve been running this business for almost two years now. I am so deeply thankful for everyone who has supported my business, my emotions and just me in general so far.
Here’s to 2022 may it bring blessings, balance and rest to you all.

Hi friends! I believe a lot of you have been following along on my other account .lifestiles as my husband and I navigate infertility and our first round of IVF. I will be having a minor surgical procedure tomorrow and out of an abundance of caution I’ve decided to take some time off to allow my body to fully heal. Please bare with me this week and I will be working to get back to you all in as timely a manner as possible. Thank you for all of your support so far.

A client photo from a blonde I got to do recently! I love taking people to their hair goals and making new friends in the process.

There’s something about purple hair that makes my heart smile 💕 client selfies have been my favorite thing for the last year.

Thankful for sweet friends like Tess that let me run with color. This was such a fun challenge, she was previously purple!

It’s been a long time since I’ve shown my face around here. things have been kind of wild. There was once a time where I was made to feel like if I didn’t show up on social media I would quickly become irrelevant. I would lose my career and become washed up if I wasn’t participating actively in this internet world. So thank you for not only proving that idea so incredibly wrong but also in sticking with me through it all.
I have been diagnosed with infertility, those of you that follow my personal account already know this. But I want to be transparent and let you all know why I’ve been slow to respond and slightly checked out.
Being behind the chair was the only place that I could be and not be absolutely consumed by infertility. Talking through my struggles with a lot of you has been incredibly healing. But I wasn’t showing up for myself and my work outside of my “working hours” for a while. I honestly didn’t feel I had the energy.
So I’m here, saying thank you for believing in me even when I couldn’t. Thank you for continuing to support me and this business as that is what will help fuel my little family forward. I I can hardly believe that it has almost been a year since I took this leap, I wouldn’t be here without all of you. Fun things are coming. Some shifts will undoubtedly be happening, but I’m still wrapping my head around how it’s all going to work out. I ask that you please continue to be a little patient with me while I navigate the coming months.

I very rarely get to show off a straight balayage. My sweet client was root to end blonde pre pandemic. We decided we liked a more dimensional look at her root and have been playing with tone since we came back! Summer is coming and I am booking into June for color appointments. Please prebook your summer blonde appointments!!
