Hi Richmond Neighbors,

I’m reaching out to share an ongoing concern regarding signage placed on the building where my salon is located here in Point Richmond.

A large leasing sign has repeatedly been installed directly in front of my storefront. Its placement has created ongoing confusion, with multiple people stopping by to ask if my business is closing. As an active, operating small business, this has been both disruptive and concerning.

I have made several respectful attempts to communicate with property management and have offered alternative placement options on the building. Despite this, the sign has continued to be placed in front of my storefront without my agreement or prior notice. From my perspective, this has felt dismissive, not only of my business, but of the care and investment that goes into building something here in Point Richmond.

I own a holistic hair salon in this space, and I also work out of a salon in Oakland. Many of my clients travel from Oakland, Piedmont, El Cerrito, and Berkeley specifically to visit me here, and I’m proud to be bringing consistent business and new visitors into Point Richmond.

I’m sharing this to bring awareness and to see if anyone has insight into local signage practices, tenant rights, or has navigated something similar.

I truly value being part of this community and want to continue contributing to it in a positive way.
