I felt so “white” today.

Before we adopted my daughter I would have had NO idea what she was doing with that toothbrush in her hair.

But now I know.

I walked into the bathroom today as she was getting ready for soccer and saw this.

And without batting an eyelash I said:

“Callie... how long till you’re done with that “edge tamer” because we have to get going.”

I just couldn’t help but chuckle.
A 60 year old white dude talking about “edge tamer” with his daughter.

I know I talk about adoption a lot.
Maybe too much at times.

But it’s moments like this that I like love.

If it wasn’t for my daughter, I would have never heard of things like “edge tamer.”

She’s helped open my eyes to a whole different world out there .
Because of her, I see things from a different perspective.
And I think that’s made me a better person.

I love every minute of it.
Okay not EVERY minute.
But you get what I mean...
