Welcome Back!

Hello Beauties! We have a few new changes to review before my salon reopens. But first, I'd like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. The generosity and kindness you've shown me during the closure has been amazing and humbling. I sincerely appreciate your patience as we embark on a new journey together. Coming to the salon won't be the same as it was before, but I'm convinced it's still going to be wonderful. I'm so excited to get to see you again! I promise to make your health and safety my top priority. I will be following new regulations and guidelines from the MN Department of Cosmetology. Please take a moment to review our new safety standards, found below.

1. If you or any members of your household are feeling unwell OR are awaiting COVID19 test results, please reschedule your appointment to another time. I promise I will work hard to get you rescheduled as soon as you're well.

2. When you arrive for your scheduled time, please stay in your vehicle and text me at 507-358-8129 to let me know you're here. As soon as my previous guest has left and I'm finished disinfecting my studio, I'll text you to let you know I'm ready for you.

3. Both of us MUST wear a mask at ALL times during your visit. Your mask should be fitted with loops around your ears. The ear loops will get wet and stained (if you're receiving a color service). Please do your best to bring your own disposable mask. I have limited PPE and may not be able to provide a mask for each guest. If for any reason you're unwilling or unable to wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth, please let me know so I can reschedule you to a later date after mask requirements have been lifted.

4. Only guests receiving a treatment are permitted in my studio. Please refrain from bringing family members or friends to your appointment. Minor children receiving a hair cut should be accompanied by ONE parent.

5. Beverages and chocolates will no longer be served in my studio. Please also refrain from bringing your own food and beverages into the salon, as eating and drinking cannot be done while wearing a mask.

6. The Board of Cosmetology has recommended shortening appointment duration to lessen possible exposure time. At this time, I will leave that decision to you. If you choose not to receive a shampoo before your haircut, please arrive with clean hair, shampooed within the previous 12 hours. If you choose to opt out of the blow dry and style, I'll happily help with products and tips for air dry styling.

If you’re working from home, now might be a good time to see how often you *actually* need to shampoo your hair. Maybe you’re trying to train your hair to require fewer washes throughout the week. Here are some tips to help you get started.

- Start by simply skipping the shampoo. Still rinse your hair and even scrub your scalp and use conditioner as you normally would. If you’re using professional products, they’re likely water soluble and don’t need shampoo to be removed from your hair. After you’re comfortable skipping shampoo, move on to keeping your hair dry while you shower. Use a cute shower cap or headband to help keep your head dry.

- Invest in a great smelling, light weight dry shampoo. Dry shampoo is an absorbent powder you spray on your scalp when your hair is dry. Lift your hair or tip your head upside down to evenly distribute the spray, then wait a couple minutes to allow it to absorb any excess oils or odors. Then brush it through and style as normal. Two of my favorites are Aloxxi Dry Shampoo ($22) and Fresh Hair by Kevin Murphy ($30). Let me know if you’d like either of these products shipped directly to you 😘.

-Brush your hair. This simple step is often overlooked. When your hair is DRY, brush your hair from scalp to ends. Brushing your hair and scalp helps to break up any flaky skin or oils that are clogging your scalp. Pulling the oil from your scalp through the ends helps to distribute the natural oils and makes your hair shiny. Add a relaxing hair brushing to your evening routine!
