Few things for you guyyyys:

1) slayed at color correcting my hair and then installing some long extensions for me 🫶 Thank you so much for making me a cute Barbie girl!

2) I had a small hand procedure, so I’ve been pretty quiet. I’m also traveling for the majority of this month, so I’ll be back on track with the socials in a few weeks!

3) If you’re looking for a weirdo hairstylist that can’t keep a normal facial expression.. my books are open again in October! Come hang 🫶

I was influenced..

Forgive the bathroom selfies, but I have a little bit of a story to share..

If you know me at all, you know I like creative color and my hair has been the full spectrum. I’ve used Malibu DDL on my hair numerous times to remove semipermanent, so I had no major reservations yesterday about pulling the latest color out of my hair (Purple and teal that had gone blue in the fade out).

For the first round, I used the DDL with water as recommended for pulling blues. There was still a very slight blue tint at the ends, but the areas that were not previously lightened were kind of reddish pink. I didn’t get a photo of this point, unfortunately.

I decided to do a 2nd round. This time I mixed the DDL with 5v as developer is generally recommended for getting warmer tones out. I knew this had the potential to lift my hair a little bit, so I watered down the mixture and applied it to pretty wet hair.

I s**t you not, my hair turned bright orange within 15 minutes AND my virgin new growth was lifted over a full level lighter.

I’ve done this same process in the past (3rd slide) except I started with pink and orange hair that time. First round I did with water, second round with 10v developer. My virgin hair did have a base break, which I was comfortable with happening this time as well. On other occasions I’ve pulled blues, greens, purples, and straight neon orange out while having minimal warmth exposed on my natural hair.

Instead of having me work all day looking like Carrot Top, let us spend my last official day as her co-stylist formulating and color correcting my own damn head! We ended up toning twice, and we will probably adjust again after giving my hair a rest because the orange is being stubborn as hell, but thankfully I’m back to a more natural shade of blonde.

What an end to this whirlwind 16 weeks as her co-stylist! I’ve learned so much and I’m so grateful to continue working with the amazing people at .
