I just realized that I haven’t written anything for a while. Gardening absorbed all of my free time. I have to admit that I’m so happy to own my backyard sanctuary. Any trouble or stress gets less dramatic after listening to the birds chirping, watching a caterpillar eating my herbs or simply pulling weeds from my garden. I encourage my clients to spend more time outdoors, to open windows to get fresh air or maybe bring fresh cut flowers home. I believe that living in harmony with nature will help balance our lives. It will also bring happiness and result in more glow on your beautiful faces.

I hope this note finds you well and safe. I’m so exited to share with you that I’m getting ready to reopen my spa.

Marigolds were the symbol of happiness in Ancient Rome, and I hope that after reading this you will find a spot in your garden to plant some calendula. Calendula as someone believed, originated in Europe, but it is now known by herbalists all over the world. These heavy blooming flowers not only bring joy to take pictures of, but are also a great addition in the kitchen. In recipes from Germany” pot marigold” is very often used for soups and stews. Butter and cheese had bright orange petals for adding color. Calendula has been traditionally used by herbalists to treat inflammation in internal organs and chronic infections. It is also known for cleansing and detoxifying benefits. It is said to use dark orange calendula flowers as a anti-fungal, antimicrobial and antiseptic remedy. Medicinal properties brought calendula into a skin care, where it is widely used in creams, masks, body lotions and shampoos. Soothing and healing calendula is used in facials and body wraps. Combined with other herbs like chamomile or rose hydrates, it restores natural skin moisture. I recommend to my clients to use calendula in compresses for irritated skin and eyes. Sipping “pot marigold” tea is a win for adding beauty and health.

Last night I got a test message from one of my very young clients. She asked for advice on what to do with blackheads before she would be able to get a facial. I recommended a homemade mask with honey and cinnamon.
Ingredients:
- 1 tsp of honey
- 1/2 tsp of cinnamon
Mix and massage on your face for a little bit. After 20 minutes, wash it off.
Some tingling and pink color on your face may occur from the cinnamon properties (boosting circulation, warming and plumping).
This mask is pretty strong so please don’t wear it more than 3 times a week as a treatment, and then once a week.

One more recipe which came to my mind today in this honey saga would be a delicious 3 ingredients mask: 1/2 tsp honey 1/2 tsp organic plain yogurt 1 blackberry (frozen is good as well). After mixing everything together apply on your face and wash it off after 20 min. Follow with a moisturizer. So what it does for your skin this super anti-aging mask? Yogurt has a natural probiotics, lactic acid and vit D and A. Blackberry is an antioxidant bomb. We already know all about honey ( if not please check my previous posts). Have fun trying this mask ,and from my experience mix a bit more since you will not resist tasting it.😋
