I have lost just about everything I own in the recent Park fire in Chico area. Two of my cats are still stuck in the only structure that survived on the property, and the stress of it all has made it hard to work. The road may be shut down for weeks and I am currently unable to get up to them.
Before the fire happened, I had already decided to let go of my salon, due to post-Covid financial stress…and my plan was to go live in Cohasset with my three cats and regroup from there. I now have to be out of my salon by Aug 5/6, and to make this move I need to hire movers, do minor construction, and find a place to live in very short time. The stress of it all has been beyond words, and it has been impossible to work at times.
I never imagined I would make a Go Fund Me for myself—-anything you can give is so greatly appreciated!!

Candibird Salon needs an assistant! Job requirements: shampoo & blow dry clients, answer phones and schedule appointments, keep our salon tidy and manage front desk and inventory. Customer service skills are a MUST. Friendliness and a positive attitude are #1.

YOU must be a licensed CA Cosmetologist, no experience necessary. A background knowledge in Aveda color and retail styling products is preferred—however, we are willing to train the right person.

EXPERIENCED HAIRSTYLISTS are also encouraged to apply—-huge opportunity to grow a clientele. Must be motivated and willing to put in the work. Hourly pay or chair rental available.

All candidates must be available
Tues-Sat, 10am to 6pm
Some shifts will require you to be available 11-7pm

Hourly pay plus tips. Pay is based on level of experience.

*Previous experience with Aveda products preferred
*Previous management experience preferred but not necessary

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Candibird Salon is a new and quickly growing salon nestled in gorgeous midtown Sacramento. We are currently recruiting for talented individuals with a creative flair to join our friendly team! Being an Aveda Salon, we exclusively use hair products and hair colors developed by Aveda. If you are a creative, personable and diligent manager type...and want to be part of an exciting, upbeat and growing salon in the heart of Sacramento’s creative center, then we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

Managing all aspects of front desk
while providing a high level of customer service
Help salon owner with administrative tasks and some personal assisting
Help to maintain the salon appearance
Liaising with third parties as required (Aveda, salon booking providers etc.)
Providing clients with advice on Aveda products (training provided)
Ordering retail, maintaining inventory, helping with weekly Farmer’s market (Wednesdays at Winn)

Requirements

Some experience of the hairdressing and/or beauty industry would be an advantage but overall training will be provided onsite.
Candidate must be an organized person with excellent communication skills, a good understanding of customer service, and have a very FRIENDLY and welcoming attitude. College students majoring in business, finance, art, fashion, marketing or advertising are encouraged to apply!
Computer literacy and the ability to learn our salon appointment booking system (training provided) is a must. Prior experience of booking systems would be an advantage.
