From peach cobblers to pickled cucumbers, the art of food preservation lives on. This story shares a beautiful connection forged in the kitchen, where an elder's knowledge transformed a simple harvest into a lasting tradition.

Before gym's and memberships, we lived life in a way that kept us active and healthy.
Hunting.
Gathering.
Agriculture.
Ceremony.
Playing.
People that live over 100 are called centenarians and their first rule is:
Natural movement โ daily low-intensity physical activity integrated into life, such as walking, gardening, or manual tasks.

8 years.
Thatโs how long this conversation with the soil has been happening.
Most people only see the harvest.
A Husbandman sees everything that happened before it.
The compost added.
The microbes fed.
The seasons observed.
The mistakes corrected.
The patience required.
The soil is always keeping an account.
The land remembers who shows up consistently.
Our ancestors understood something we are being forced to remember:
Fertility is not something you buy.
It is something you build.
And the same law applies everywhere:
Your health.
Your relationships.
Your household.
Your community.
Neglect compounds.
But so does care.
8 years later, the evidence is in my hands.
The question is:
What are you tending today that will feed those coming after you?
Tend.
Provide.
Stabilize.
Multiply.

The most effective weapons donโt always attack loudly.
They replace:
Relationships with convenience.
Kitchens with factories.
Ingredients we don't understand.
The greatest shift wasn't just what appeared on our plates.
It's the disconnection from what appeared on our plates.
Do you know what's on your plate?

We've all heard that phrase, "the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world."
If you ask Judith, she'll say it's she who knows how to use her kitchen since the health of the house starts there.
This was more than just a class about canning.
This was the first of a series designed to restore the sacredness to the kitchen.
In addition to , participants took home jam and have been added to our canning community.
Now, when we have pounds and pounds of harvest, we can assemble a crew and make magic.

Sometimes we overthink self-sufficiency.
We believe we have to live in the middle of the forest with no lights, no water, and a wood stove to homestead.
That's not true...
Before we made our move, we started with small things at home, consistently, over time, building habits that formed the foundation of a self-sufficient lifestyle.
