I am always so amazed by the work you do!

It feels so special knowing you have been able to capture the start of this growing family when Cora was in my belly 🥹

Now with her baby sister Ivy!

How would you go about this process?

Her goal: Blend her natural highlights, and slightly break up how condensed it is around her part!

Not too much though, since the goal is to avoid frequent salon visits 🙌🏼

My process:

Prep and finishing: ALWAYS

Specifically placed highlights only where she has grey coming in!

Which for her is just on the top towards the front 🫶🥰

I used my customized foil placement to help ensure a softer grow out as always ❤️

Started application following her natural highlight pattern - just foiling her roots or anything that wasn’t previously lightened.

Next I used 6.1 30g and 7.2 20g with 10 volume 1:1.5 all over the rest of her canvas that had been pre lightened, as well as in between foils as a slight grey blending lowlight formula 🫶

Then I pulled the lightener down in her foils and brightened her ends so they had even lift.

Processed, I let purple shampoo and New Wash (Deep) sit while I mixed her toner.

Toned with 8.1 1g + 9.0 1g + 9.2 4g + 9.12(if I remember correct 😅) 15g + 5v 1:2

We wanted to dip her toes into the grey colors, because truth is it can can be a huge shock and adjustment for so many when transitioning!

Also, I let purple conditioner sit on the rest of her dark hair while toner processed - because I got nervous I didn’t add enough purple into her formula! 😅🤷🏼‍♀️🙌🏼

Overall: an amazing first session!!

There is a huge part of me struggling to post this. 😔 I feel so weird and guilty asking for help, especially with something like this.

This pregnancy has been beyond rough for me, and has been making it so hard for me to work through the last few months. Physically and mentally 😅😔 I’ve had to minimize my hours so much and I’m still struggling. 💔

My last pregnancy, I didn’t realize how lucky I was being able to work until my due due date. Then I only took off 4 weeks before I was back in the salon.

With being a business owner, I don’t know of much extra support that we can get with stuff like this. If anyone knows of anything, I’d love to hear any ideas too!

I was prepared for a maternity leave, but not to this extent for how much I have needed to take off.

So any help or ideas is greatly appreciated!

January 7th 2020 - when I made the terrifying jump.

I was previously working 5 days a week at Hanzo, and 2 days a month in the salon. I then transitioned to 3 days a week at Hanzo, and 3 days a week in the salon!

Also being in a salon suite - where there isn’t really any automatic advertising. 😅😅

It has been a long journey since that day. I’m so glad I took the risk when I did!

The first 5 years, felt very up and down. But I knew it was worth it to keep going.

Especially once I found my new edu outlets in 2022 - I knew I had the tools to keep growing!

December 2024, I had 2 super slow months where I thought I may have to shut down my business.

Somehow, all the work I had done over the years, was on its way to pay off - I just didn’t know it yet!

January after I came back from my edu retreat, I had 6 Saturdays booked out. Which was a huge relief!

I kept waiting for it to slow down. I am proud to say this has been my most consistent year yet!

I have dreamed of this for so long. It’s amazing to truly have it be my real life 🥲❤️

Having last month booked out, and now being fully booked before I take my maternity leave!!🤯🥹😍🥰

As much as I hate having to minimize my days due to my health, I am so blessed to have this issue vs barely filling my days 🥹❤️

I feel like I say this so much, but it’s because I truly mean it. I am just so grateful for everyone who has helped get me here!

My husband Ace, my family, my mentors in the salon, my INCREDIBLE clients, and anyone who has supported me in any big or small way.

Even engaging with my content on social media. 🫶

Little bits of our trip to Crescent City to visit my side of our family last week! 🥰

✨ We somehow got a perfect family picture, on the first try 😂🙌🏼 I accept full credit for somehow achieving it 😆

✨Cora finally got to watch the movie “Happy Feet” and for obvious reasons, she absolutely loved it 🥰

✨Cora copied her grandma while doing some stretches 🥹🤗

✨I got to show Cora one of my favorite places when I was a little girl! Ocean World 🦀🪸🐡🦈

Plus going with two besties that I haven’t seen in so long was the most amazing thing!! 🥹🤗

✨ Cora pet a shark! (Which is more than her father can say 😂😂😂😂😂)

✨ Such amazing quality time with family!!🥹

Cora was LOVING playing the Oregon with my grandpa! Trying to copy all of his moves!

It was so amazing getting to see this side of the family have time to connect with baby Cora. She had so much fun! And loved showing off all her skills to the fam 😆😆

✨ My best friend that I moved to Sac with - Tad - happened to be in Crescent City at the same time as me! They moved to Massachusetts 6 years ago and I haven’t seen them since except for FaceTime 🥲

So having some time to reconnect was so amazing! Plus seeing them be the best Tio to miss Cora absolutely made my heart so happy. 🥹🥰

✨ My mama threw us the perfect little baby shower with some close family and friends!

It was so special getting to have that celebration in my hometown with so many loved ones that I don’t get to see as often 🥹🤗

So blessed for all the love and support of miss Ivy on the way 😍
