🌴 Life’s Better With Salty Air.

Four years ago today, I lost my best friend.

Not just my best friend… my only friend. She was my person.

Four years have passed, but not a single day goes by that I don’t think about her. Some days the grief is quiet, and other days it crashes over me like it just happened yesterday. The shock still hasn’t completely settled, and sometimes it hits me all over again.

I miss everything.

I miss our beach days, grabbing pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks, playing Pokémon together, and watching all of her scuba diving adventures. She had such a love for the ocean and every living thing in it. It was a part of who she was.

She adored Autumn and proudly wore the title of “Auntie Arden.” I know without a doubt she would have loved Ashton and Selene just as fiercely. That thought breaks my heart every time.

Arden had the kindest soul I’ve ever known. She could walk into any room and instantly make it brighter just by being there. She had a laugh you couldn’t help but laugh with, and a heart that deserved so much more time than this world gave her.

Some of my soaps have special meanings behind them, but this one means the most.

Arden’s Garden was created in her memory. Every swirl, every flower, every detail reminds me of the beauty she brought into my life. It’s my way of keeping a piece of her alive and sharing her with the world.

She is missed by so many people. And so many of us, myself included, will never be the same without her.

If there’s one thing I hope anyone takes away from this post, it’s this:

Your life matters.
You matter.
You are loved, even when your mind tells you otherwise.
