Did you know?

Taking photos of nature significantly helps to reduce anxiety.
It is considered a “meditation and motion“ technique with lowering cortisol and your blood pressure.

Find something that you like… Leaf patterns, butterflies, pollinators, flowers, birds, lizards, and even insects!
Search your yard, go to a park or walk the neighborhood seeking out specific nature shots.
Heck! Go to town and take 50 pictures… Who cares! They are for your own enjoyment and you can delete them later if you want to.

I find that nature is full of repeating geometric patterns, and these visually, can help soothe the nervous system.

Color psychology also plays part with earth tones, jewel tones calming blues, and greens that naturally trigger relaxation responses.

Natural environments have been shown to increase serotonin and dopamine.

It can calm your brains exhausted prefrontal cortex which is a huge emotional regulator.

Nature impresses me on a daily basis, and if you look at the photos I just recently took on my lunch break. …..You can see the colors, the patterns, the wings, the seeds, the petals, the veining, stripes, softness, rigidness, teardrops, lines, arches… It is so cool! 💪🏻🥰

Dr Google…friend or foe?

Searching for symptoms online has now become the first line of action when not feeling well.
It could be useful, but it also can lead to incorrect self diagnosis and the biggest harm I find is that it causes severe health anxiety for most people.
Even the most minor symptoms can pull you through the rabbit hole and lead to you believing that it is life-threatening and that you’re doomed.
It is a fact, that AI heavily prioritizes worst case scenarios.
Many of the search engines will lead you down to continuous click bait/ symptom spirals and they are more interested in your algorithm then your wellness.
Even worse, is the misinformation and the selling of snake oil with unverified and or ineffective treatments.
Your algorithm Feed will also change on your social media, and you will start finding more and more ads and articles regarding the symptoms and diseases that you were originally reading about which increases the health anxiety, even more.
This is not healthy.
Anxiety in general can absolutely make you sick and it generally is not recognized by the medical professionals as a root cause.☹️
Dr. Google is more useful after receiving a proper diagnosis and especially backed up with blood tests.
When researching online instead of using Dr. Google look for more reputable sources and reviewed platforms.
Mayo Clinic, pubmed and Harvard Health are some reviewed platforms.
Reviewed platforms means that a doctor/hospital has rated the information, telehealth software systems are in place and backed by clinical evidence.
But even still, each human is individual and it is best to get an official diagnosis from a doctor first and even that is not always guaranteed but you will have a better chance than using AI and Dr. Google.
My way of thinking is get a diagnosis first from an actual doctor and then from there make your own decisions regarding your healing journey.
As most of you know, I’m not into going to the doctor, but I absolutely use their available tools and stay in their database for possible emergencies like a broken bone or needing stitches.
Back in the day… We didn’t even have social or Dr. Google and depended on our family knowledge or family doctor.

Google in 2016 actually partnered with Harvard medical school and the Mayo Clinic to enhance their symptoms search feature and it’s intended for informational purposes only and never able to guarantee a diagnosis and has a very high potential for inaccuracy.

What are your thoughts?

Farm story…

Over the weekend, I was working with passion flower and it’s loaded with flowers, developing fruit, but I needed to harvest some of the leaves.
In my pile, I noticed a chrysalis and as I investigated, a long wing butterfly emerged and dried its wings on my fingertips.😱
Super cool!

The passion flower hosts both the zebra long wing, and the Gulf butterfly, and our vines are loaded with both of them.
The zebra long wing is officially our Florida state butterfly❤️

I checked the rest of the vines that were harvested just in case they were more🫶🏻

Many of our daytime lotions are in stock!

The vanilla mint is usually the most popular, and we are usually sold out .

Our unscented cucumber lotion is highly recommended for those that are very sensitive to fragrances, essential oils, any type of scent.

We call it the daytime lotion because it’s a great way to hydrate your skin when you’re on the go, during the daytime!
This lotion sinks in almost immediately and allows you to continue on with your day without waiting for it to dry.

For a deeper hydration, we recommend the richer creams that have the added raw natural beeswax and butters.

It’s a great feeling to know that you can use a moisturizer that is completely plant-based without any additives, no fillers, no bulking agents, no fragrance, no silicone, no sulfites, no parabens, etc.

We offer high-quality good clean skin moisturizers!

Moisturizing daily repairs and protects your skins natural barrier, and with consistency helps to keep your skin plump and to reduce fine lines.
If you get into moisturizing your skin daily at an early age, it most definitely reduces premature aging 🫶🏻

For mature skin, it is recommended to moisturize twice daily and to use a rich cream in the evening.❤️

Should we do a FREEBIE FRIDAY?
Need some feedback 😜

We used to do Freebie Friday on a regular basis, but we haven’t in quite some time.

I’m thinking of making a “one time batch” of a thick coconut cream body moisturizer as one of the freebies 😜

Should we do one for this Friday? 🤷🏼‍♀️

I grew worms! Lol

This weekend was overcast and it gave me a good full day to start prepping the kitchen garden for fall planting.

Weeding, pruning, adding manure and compost and then covering sections not being used and to rest.

A few months ago,I decided to use a large bucket and drill holes at the bottom… I probably could’ve drilled more holes along the side, but it still turned out really well.
We had a lot of leaves from the frost that we had, and so I started layering the bucket with about 5 inches of oak and sea grape leaves, then threw some sand on top and then repeated it all the way to the top.
I took the bucket and shoved it underneath the loquat tree where it is shady and has a good moisture and just left it there with watering it since it was next to my potted plants.
I was really experimenting with how quickly oak leaves can decompose and man I ended up with an amazing bucket of rich, dark soil!
To my surprise… It was absolutely loaded with king-size earthworms!

They were feisty! Lol, as soon as I dumped the bucket, they all immediately borrowed down into the rich dark soil.
