You know those little yellow flowers that you find so annoying during the summer months? Well, the w**d that plagues your yard actually has a purpose now! It is believed that dandelions originated in the Mediterranean. Their roots were commonly used as a tonic to remove toxins from the bloodstream and clear toxic, damp heat stored in the body.
 
 
Since then, dandelions have been used in various ways including:

* Cooked as a flavoring for savory dishes

The climbing kudzu vines are native to eastern and southeast Asia. These vines are often considered to be invasive w**ds, but have been used for centuries in herbal teas and remedies, with the earliest recorded usages being somewhere around 600 AD. These remedies utilize the roots, flowers, and leaves of the kudzu plant. It should only be taken when consuming alcohol to keep from drying out the body

The kudzu flowers were originally introduced into the United States to help erosion control and soil enhancement. It increases the nitrogen in the soil and transfers valuable minerals from the subsoil to the topsoil with its deep taproots. This improves the topsoil, and can keep the ground healthy.

Kudzu is commonly used to make herbal teas and tinctures that are used to treat fever, chills, and stiff neck and shoulders. Throughout the years, kudzu flower has become recognized in traditional Chinese medicine as a treatment for alcoholism. It doesn’t reduce the craving for a drink, but it can dampen the desire to drink as much.
