Apothecary and Divination Shop Blessed Be!

From the time I was a child, I longed to be that woman in the woods, the one with herbs hanging in her kitchen, a tonic bubbling on the stove, and crystals and charms glimmering everywhere. I don't quite have my cabin in the woods yet, but I have my own slice of paradise, and it is my dearest wish to reconnect everyone with our Mother Earth by way of providing products carefully and intentionally crafted from the tools she has given us to aid our bodies' natural healing processes.

Winter in the desert is magical ✨️

Reposted from @herbalacademy HERBS FOR HEALTH AND CHEER DURING WINTER ❄️ + GINGER BOOST RECIPE BELOW

For these darker, cooler months of winter, we are highlighting several herbs for their use in boosting circulation, supporting the immune system, and assisting in emotional support by chasing away winter blues.

🌿Cinnamon is delightfully cozy, aids digestion, and has antimicrobial properties, making it helpful in fending off colds and other viruses that tend to be particularly prevalent in winter. Enjoy cinnamon as a tea or sprinkle on foods you enjoy.
🌿Cayenne is a blood mover. If you experience cold hands and feet in the winter, or just run cold in general, consider cayenne. Just a little sprinkle on your food will do or add a very small amount to curries or homemade masala spice mixes.
🌿Astragalus has a warming energy and assists the immune system in a similar way as many of the super mushrooms. A simple way to benefit from astragalus is to add ¼-½ teaspoon to a mug of miso soup.
🌿Peppermint is known for its applications as a carminative, analgesic, and for its usefulness in instances of headache, sore throat, and indigestion. Peppermint tea or diffusing peppermint essential oils are a few good ways to use this herb.
🌿St. John’s Wort is an herb that is well-known for its effectiveness in instances of depression and seasonal affective disorder (SAD), helping with those winter blues. St. John’s wort can be taken internally as a tincture or infusion.
🌿Ginger has antimicrobial properties and is indicated for colds, the flu, cough, nausea, indigestion, arthritis, menstrual cramps, and as an overall support for heart health. To benefit from this herb, give this Ginger Booster recipe a try!

Juniper is one of our very oldest plant allies, and is said to ward off evil. You can string the dried berries into a necklace or place them in pouches for protection. Hanging sprigs of juniper at your front door traditionally keeps away thieves.
