I love a good Before and After... it makes such a statement! Where what we did... we brought her color up and fixed some gold banding (lines of gold color in her hair from a previous color job) and then we added one row of extensions using hair

I knew it was coming. I knew it was a side affect. I knew I would have to face this part of cancer. I worried how I would look with a bald head. I wondered how it would happen and I cherished the time I had left. That might sound silly but I work in the hair industry and I make women feel beautiful everyday because of what I do with their hair. Hair is for many of us a security blanket. It frames our face and shows our personality. I had to face the reality of raw unfiltered Ashley. I had to rely on something deeper. Something within. I found it as soon as it started falling out, losing my hair made me not care about all the unimportant things as much.
I washed it Sunday night the 13th and didn’t notice any shedding however I woke up the 14th and to my surprise my brush was abnormally full of hair with just one pass through.
Throughout the day I had little piles of hair that would just come out as I ran my hand through my hair. Each time it was shocking and yet also fascinating. I didn’t even feel it coming out. It just did. By Thursday it fell out so easily I could just shake my head and lose a hundred hairs. It was all over my shirt and I just had to be done with it. So we had a shaving party. I was going to shave it Saturday but we bumped it up to Friday cuz the extra hair on my shirt was so annoying.
The lesson I learned because of a bald head... I am not my hair. Neither are you. We are beautiful from the inside out first! Your personality can shine through with or without the perfect hairstyle or color. Don’t worry about it so much. But I will tell you... it sure is a lot warmer with hair!
