Summer heat can do a number on your hair. The hot weather and sun’s UV rays can damage the outermost layer of your hair - the cuticle. The cuticle tends to become rough and can actually swell up as it tries to attract humidity. This causes frizz and fray in the hair. Frizzy hair is dry, it is unmanageable and it is prone to breakage. Summer heat caused excess moisture and sweat that can also cause your hair to fall flat and lose its volume in the summer…. So what can you do?

A- wear a hat
B- consider running your hands thru your hair after you apply sunscreen to your face- especially if your going to spend the day outside
C- don’t wash your hair quite as often- it can dry out your hair
D- because your hair can as actually grow faster in summer, come in for a trim. Let’s get those ends in shape
F- use a conditioner- don’t skip this step. Consider a leave in type.
G- Keep yourself well hydrated too.

We’re entering a season where many folk try to give up something ( it’s called Lent)… well, why not give up bad hair? Call your stylist today and let’s get you ready for spring. It’s right around the corner. You only have 40 days to get this done.

The community response for blankets for Community Missions’ Cold Weather Shelter has been great… according to Rachael, an additional identified need right now is for hats, gloves, etc, as well as plastic spoons and forks , personal wipes, toilet paper and cleaning supplies such as bleach. You can drop those off at The Haven House at 7th and Olive or drop them off here at Beck Plaza Salon in the Hobby Lobby shopping area.

With the bitterly cold weather, Community Missions has run out of blankets for the cold weather shelter ( men’s and women’s )… if you have any unused blankets or hats, gloves, scarfs etc, you can take them to The Haven at 7th and Olive, or drop them off at Beck Plaza Salon and we’ll get them there. Let’s support this effort as part of the Community.

It’s going to be a new year… why not make it a new you too. Make a resolution to call us or your favorite stylist for that new look soon.
