I've been doing nails since January 1993. I love helping people feel better about themselves.

On April 1 Chez Cheveu got a new owner. I was told a week prior that I was not going to be welcome to stay working there. As a result, I have made the heartbreaking decision to retire from the nail business. I'm so grateful for the 33 wonderful years I've had as a nail tech, 23 of them being an independent contractor. I will dearly miss all of my clients/friends I've had over the years. It was not an easy decision, but one I feel is the correct one. I loved being a nail tech and I pray I'm on the right path to find something I love just as much as nails. I don't know yet what that will be, but I'm hopeful for a great new adventure.

Do you know these are single use items? They are to be disposed of after after client. If you go to a nail salon and these items look used, get up and walk out.

Just wanted to show everyone how sparkly the Cateye polish is in the sun. It's just spectacular 😍

This is a difficult post to write. I've lost a dear client and I'd like to honor her here. Working with mostly senior citizens, I lose clients quite often. It always makes me sad, but this one is different. You've all seen Barb Carlsons' nails on my feed. Every year we did all her nails up for 4th of July, Halloween, and Christmas.
I'd done Barbs' nails for 33 years. She was one of my very first standing clients, and she became like family. Barb was always my biggest cheerleader. I used to hand paint all of Barbs nail art and I have a terrible habit of thinking none of my nail art is ever good enough (I am truly not good at hand painting), but Barb always said how great it was and she just loved them. A few years ago, when perimenopause made my brain just not able to deal with hand painting anymore, she never complained, she just said that's OK. But then I learned nail stamping and it was on again. She was so happy to have nail art again. I'm so happy I was able to bring a little joy to her thru her nails.
After every appointment we would hug and she'd kiss my cheek and we'd say, I love you. I'm so very thankful to her family for allowing me to go see her in the hospital and tell her I love her one last time. I will miss her terribly. Rest with the angels, Barb. I love you.

My favorite pink ever😍

My birthday/Valentines day nails. I used a Jelly/Glass Gel polish to do these and I layered the white heart stamps under coats of the Jelly polish. I love how it turned out.
