Today Burnsville’s Ladder 1 is posted up at the State Capitol for the Minnesota Fallen Firefighter Memorial.
Every year since 2011, hundreds of people have gathered on the grounds of the State Capitol on the last Sunday of September for a solemn ceremony to remember the Minnesota firefighters who have died in the line of duty.
The 2024 Minnesota Fallen Firefighter Memorial Service will take place today at 1 p.m. This year’s ceremony is scheduled to include a wreath laying, reading of the honor roll, comments from dignitaries, bag pipes and a bell ceremony.
And included in this year’s remembrance is one of BFD’s own, FF/PM Adam Finseth.

So excited for this book release!
This is the legacy of peace that we’re leaving our children: an acceptance that while we don’t have all the answers and can’t always get it right, even in our imperfections we cling to and deeply trust the One who is perfect.

Let me attempt to articulate what has been on my mind…
You cannot understand a persons choices, intent, or situation unless you actually have the truth.
Without understanding you can never appreciate why they made that choice, or why that situation played out the way it did.
If you cannot appreciate the ‘why’ you are only left with your judgmental thoughts, which often lead to judgmental actions or feeling on your part, whether or not you agree with what happened.
My encouragement to you is this.
Seek the truth. Even if it means asking the hard question. Even if it means that you might be part of the problem. Even if it challenges what you thought to be true before.
Seek the truth.
Then ask for wisdom.
James 1:5 KJV - 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Because with truth and wisdom comes understanding.
Life begins to make a lot more sense, and people begin to make a lot more sense when you choose to get understanding.
It’s crucial for good relationships.
Thanks for listening, I hope it could be a little encouraging if you are in the midst of something you just don’t understand🫶🫶

How to be a mom who doesn’t stress about the little things.
Pro-tip #1 Do not buy a silverware set.
Go to your thrift store and find stainless steel or silver plated silverware. Have fun! Mix and match the sets. Make sure to keep extra in case of company!
And when you picnic, you can take real forks and spoons and not worry if something gets lost!
Guess what?
No one is going to go in your silverware drawer to judge you for your eclectic set.
Less pressure for you, less pressure for your kids, and no pointing fingers when your set doesn’t have the number you think it should.
Sounds like a win to me!
Do you have a set or an eclectic collection???
