Identity gap: It’s what happens when life moves faster than your sense of self.
When your body, your hair, or your reflection changes before your mind has caught up.

I’ve been feeling this myself lately — catching my reflection and realizing my face and hair are changing before my sense of self has.

We normalize losing pieces of ourselves.
We call it “just a phase” or “part of growing up.”
But no one really talks about how disorienting it can feel to stop recognizing yourself.

Hair plays a much bigger role in that than people admit.
Not because of beauty — but because of identity.

Wanting to feel like yourself again isn’t superficial.
It’s human.

The solution isn’t ignoring that feeling or telling yourself to care less.
It’s allowing yourself to support the parts of you that help you feel grounded and familiar.

Sometimes that support looks like choosing a version of yourself that feels right again — even if it’s not the one you were born with.

And investing in that feeling is one of the most self-respecting things you can do.

She used her firefighter-husband’s hair for her wig- and she’s glowing knowing it came from him.

Custom hits different when it’s personal.

When clients come to us hoping to use their own hair in a wig, that’s exactly what we do.

For this piece, a client cut her hair ahead of treatment. While one head of hair is rarely enough on its own, we used her hair as the foundation — carefully blending it with our own perfectly matched hair. Incorporating her own hair made the piece deeply meaningful and allowed for an exceptionally natural result.

A wig that feels personal, intentional, and truly hers.

The goal isn’t just to wear hair.
The goal is to feel like yourself.

Not a number.
Not a style name.
Not a trend.

At Caring & Comfort, we customize every detail — fit, movement, density, tone, parting, and proportions — so your wig aligns with your identity.

Because when a wig reflects who you are, not who it was made to fit, everything changes.

Share this with the wig wearer in your life. It’s life changing.

I wash wigs every single day, and you’d be shocked how much buildup sits right at the top: perfume, deodorant spray, finishing sprays, even sunscreen. Most perfumes are alcohol-based, which means they dry out the hair.
If you wear wigs, always spray yourself before putting your wig on — or spray your wrists and body at an angle away from the hair.
Small habits make a huge difference in how long your wig stays soft, shiny, and healthy.

Is it necessary to send in multiple heads of hair? Not at all! But we are so happy to accept additional bundles to blend or dye for your wigs.
Both of these clients chose to blend the pints together to create a stunning multidimensional wig.

Movement, softness, and a tone that melts into her complexion. This is what high-end blonde should look like.

We Care about your Comfort...

Sometimes friends or relatives want to donate their hair for a wig. Wearing a wig made with your own hair, or hair provide by someone who cares, is very special and satisfying.

We know that hair loss can be the most difficult and stressful aspect of whatever medical condition women are confronted with. We have two ways that we can help.

There is great comfort in wearing your own hair and hair that has been donated by loved ones and people who care. (That is why our good friend, who is a survivor, came up with the name "Caring and Comfort" for what we do.)

We find people choose a style close to their hairstyle before diagnosis. This seems to help in their recovery. At least they look the same. So we can make your Custom wig designed from the your photos (or pictures of the style you want).

If more hair is needed to complete the wig, we match our Virgin European hair with the hair color and texture you provide.

• We have 3 Pricing plans to fit your budget and discounts for paying up front. You also get $100 OFF for Providing Hair for your order.

• Insurance often helps cover some of the cost. We’ll let you know what to ask.

• We have Rush options if you need it fast.
