Audrey's Beauty Salon
We are no longer in business. After 60+ years and 2 generations, Audrey's was forced to close our doors on 06/23/18 and vacate the premises by 06/30/18
We are a family-run beauty salon that has been open for over 60 years. We accept walk-ins, but you must make an appointment to come in the early morning or evening! :)
Seems folks still check in here. I’m not able to delete this page since it’s linked to my late husband’s page. I can only post here it seems. My daughter and I will soon be moving again. Quite far away from Florida this time.
We’ve yet to have a memorial service for Michael, but hope to do so after our move. We’ll be scattering his ashes in some lovely remote wild place near the water. Setting his earthly remains free to the winds and the freedom his spirit already thankfully knows.
And shaking the dust (and sand) of Florida from our feet for a fresh start in a new place.
I see people are still viewing this page. Audrey’s no longer exists as a business entity. It’s owner/lead stylist Michael passed last year after a long painful illness. I’m unable to take down this page because it is linked to his personal page. So here it sits in memorial.
Probably my last post. The daughter and I are moving. Our financial situation necessitated selling our home. So we’re off to a new start in a new place. It’s time to move on. We never did have the opportunity or resources for a memorial service for Michael. His cremated remains will be making the move with us. He’ll continue to rest upon his beloved piano in the old cedar box he inherited from my dad. Perhaps next year at the first anniversary of his passing we’ll come back to St. Petersburg for a visit and have some type of memorial then. Whenever whatever plans, for now it’s comforting for us to have some part of him physically with us. We know his spirit is watching over us too. So, time for us to say farewell to St. Petersburg and Audrey’s. It was nice for a good bit of the time that it lasted. The rest we try not to talk about, and work put it in the past where it belongs.
I’m very sad to report that my husband Michael, owner and lead stylist of Audrey’s, has passed after a long painful illness. He is now at peace and no longer suffering. He passed peacefully early this morning at Seasons hospice inpatient facility. Memorial plans are pending.
Hope everyone is keeping safe and well in these crazy times. Hair ain’t everything, like I discovered quite awhile ago. A perfect “do” ain’t worth risking your health or maybe your life.
Michael’s condition continues downhill. He’s currently in the hospital after fracturing his hip. And he’s developed what may be serious heart problems. Prayers that he finally finds peace and rest and an end to his long suffering.
Hi. I see we’re still getting views. Audrey’s is permanent closed. Owner and lead stylist Michael is in extremely poor health that continues to worsen. I am his primary caregiver. So I am not working either. We are managing, just barely, if anyone is concerned about our wellbeing this holiday season. The last year and a half since we were forced to close the salon has been difficult, but we are surviving on a greatly reduced income. Not that the salon was making us that much, obviously, in its last several months. But we are just managing. This Christmas, which will also be Michael’s 70th birthday, will be very sparse for us but I’m grateful to have made it this far and still have a roof over our heads and other basic necessities of life. These last few years have taught me what’s really important and how insignificant is the pursuit of the material. Thanksgiving Blessings and Happy Holidays to any of you who may still come to this page.

Still closed. Not relocating or reopening. Head stylist and owner Michael is in swiftly declining health. We have hospice supportive care for him right now. I'm not working anywhere as a nail tech since I am his primary care giver. And I've developed an allergy to nail products anyway.

For our winter clients: We regret to inform you that we are no longer in business do to some unfortunate events. And as Michael is no longer able to work due to poor health, we have not moved anywhere new. We have no contact with our former employees, so please don't bother to try and contact us to ask where they went. Thank you for your patronage of years past.

Audrey's is permanently closed.
Closing our doors for good on June 23, 2018. We had a long run. We lasted way way beyond the average salon's business life. But times change and unfortunately too many factors prevented us changing with them. Truth to tell we've just barely been hanging in for a long time. Our employees were talented stylists within their skillset and willingness to work. But it clearly wasn't enough to sustain us. They will be moving on to another location, they had arrangements made within a day of our announcement. It seems most of the salon's client list will be moving on with them. We wish them all what they deserve in this life. Blessings to all. Thank you for your support and patronage these many long years. And to those no longer with us, but were loyal all the way, we carry you in our hearts and memories.
