hair ceremonies // Years ago I got lost in the desert in West Texas. Somewhere off trail, surrounded by repeating cactus and quiet, I realized how many parts of myself I had been keeping separate. The artist. The hairdresser. The ceremonialist. The intuitive. Out there I began gathering the bones, the pieces of myself that had been scattered.

Hair ceremonies were born from that remembering. From the decision to bring all of me into the work.

The first ones happened quietly in my backyard in the Fairmount neighborhood of Fort Worth with friends. Since then they’ve moved with me into the woods, onto foothills, beside mountain streams.

Each ceremony is different. Shaped by the person sitting in front of me.

A ritual of release and remembering.

As this season of my work deepens- mentoring, teaching, nurturing the salon, creating, and holding space, I’m opening more time for my favorite thing :)

Ceremony may weave together:
• somatic grounding
• sacred combing + cleansing brushing
• braiding and adornment
• reiki therapy
• drumming
• tarot / oracle
• micro plant medicine assist
• oils and hair tea I prepare myself
• an altar- and fire when permitted
• tea and chocolate

This is for the woman who is experiencing a life transition that calls for slowing down and reconnecting to her body, her beauty, and her magic.

DM to book your hair ceremony.

hair holds memory.
it holds seasons.
it holds versions of you that you’ve already outgrown.

when we cut it, cleanse it, oil it, brush it slowly — we’re not just tending to strands.
we’re tending to energy.

sometimes the shift isn’t dramatic.
sometimes it’s quiet.
a few inches. a deep breath. a release.

hair is not just aesthetic.

Over the weekend I taught a styling class at the salon, then we rolled straight into a mini photoshoot. Being surrounded by such creative, driven stylists lights me up. The day was all play, experimentation, and joy- and every part of me needed it. I can’t wait to share their final looks!
