Lucero team retreat 2026: Resilience

I chose to showcase that there aren’t many photos of me in large groups to share some truth

This year I am working on being open and vulnerable, softening my jagged points, and building resilience through thriving rather than surviving.

It’s surprisingly hard for me to open up. One thing I didn’t think would happen when I moved here is that people would approach me less. It’s easy for me to get lost in my own world, or assume I am a burden. We have all experienced misjudging our importance in others lives, and I’m discovering how deeply that has affected me over the years.

That withdrawn nature makes it seem as though I am uninterested in connection, which can’t be further from the truth. I crave connection and emotional and physical affection, but it’s really hard for me. I am starting to realize how much I relied on others thinking it was “meeting halfway”.

Watching everyone reach down deep and show what they hide inside was so inspiring, and I strive to be like that.

That being said, this was very hard to write and post, but here I am, maybe others can relate.
