👋🏼 Hi guys! Time to formally introduce myself… My name is Kate Giddings and I’m the mad scientist responsible for Blood + Blush.
I’ve been in the beauty/fashion/commercial/photo/film/Edu industry + world for more of my life than I haven’t been. Since I got into beauty as an art form, I’ve dreamt of working (flourishing) in a inspiring space where learning, creating freely + connecting with other artists and creatives in our industry co-existed as synonymously as it should…
Yet still strangely doesn’t, as there are so many of us freelance artists left running solo + without any proper support or direction, when instead there is power in numbers + coming together. When I was new, I naively thought these issues were exclusive to the hmua department… but it sadly isn’t. And so many of my actor, producer, wardrobe, art + camera department friends struggle with the same issues we are all facing together; such as marketing, invoicing, taxes, rate negotiations, booking clients, underbidding from peers, etc. So it is my hope to one day bridge the gap and offer a source of guidance + support to the community where we can all address these challenges + find a way to standardize higher quality expertise, higher rates, more work, even dreamier clients + a fun way to come together and discuss ideas that help ourselves + each other be even better than we were yesterday.
I know this has nothing to do with a standard makeup application to the normal person, but it really DOES. It has to do with how we ALL approach our careers and passions, and are able to sustain a life you love and that means something, regardless of what department or background you come from.
So, am I putting too much meaning into a tube of lipstick or an article of clothing and what it can do for a person? Maybe. Or maybe not, and maybe people just need to look underneath what is actually skin deep and see the deeper meaning, and the bigger purpose of it all. But I hope that through Blood + Blush you can find inspiration, developing your craft + coming together a little bit easier than going alone. That’s why we’re here, so come join our party. Want a space to pre-party and get ready with your girlfriends before a night out on the town? Either book a group discounted hmua service with 3 or more of you or book our self serve hair/makeup stations for each of you to have a comfortable space with ample lighting to get ready as a group and get your night started on the right foot with close proximity to downtown restaurants, bars + clubs. Access to our dressing room with private lockers, a mini fridge and selfie station are included.

This is for all you dudes who don’t know what to get your lady for the holidays… we’ve made it easy on you. Give her a piece of plastic with our name on it she can redeem when you take her on a hot date this holiday season. Done. You’re welcome.

For HMUA’s… by HMUA’s. Finally a safe space for freelance hair/makeup artists to take a client! Come work out of our fun, beautiful space at your own hmua station, or rent a separate lower seating space exclusively for hair styling clients.
Each MUA station has daylight bulbs plus ample natural lighting for checking all the different lighting angles. Renting a station includes directors chair, 4-5+ feet of work space, daylight bulbs plus natural lighting available, hand sanitizer and a mirror for you and your client plus free use of portrait studio set-up for pictures and portfolio work. Kit rentals available starting 2024. Come enjoy our space with us!🖤

Don’t feel like booking a private session in our downstairs photostudio but still want a nice bright space to get a few great pics? This is for all our influencer, photographer, model + content creator friends that want to come take advantage of our white walls, multiple furniture options and portrait studio set-up in our upstairs studios for a flexible pop-in time and price with an open shoooting shared space. We even have a private dressing room you can access for quick wardrobe changes (and obviously hmua touchups if needed..)
Available 9-5 until private “after hours” booking time starts. Come shoot with us, just keep it casual. (*No bo***ir or sexy shoots in our open upstairs loft studio from 9-5 since it is a shared space, must book private room or book after hours!)

We have a in-studio salon you never knew about! That’s right. We offer more than professional hmua styling services and now offer your choice of professional men/women cuts, color + extensions services.
We have an amazing team that will be growing in January 2024! Book a salon service direct with any of our artists and enjoy coming to your favorite happy place to get your hair perfected, and feel free to take advantage of our upstairs shooting space for all the best selfies afterwards! (Complimentary mini-touchups available upon request)😍✨

We have a stunning upstairs studio (along with our downstairs photostudio) that you can now rent out for your own occasion of choice. Our downstairs photostudio is available for full rental 7 days a week and our upstairs studio is available 5pm-midnight + weekends only. Party packages starting at $499 throughout December with party add on options available to upgrade the experience if desired. Limited availability, so book fast!⚡️
