Margaret Tarampi ART
Perception, broadly defined, is the construction of a representation of the external world, for purposes of thinking about it and acting in it.
Representation, as it manifests both perceptually and physically, can reveal and highlight unique knowledge about our experience. The beauty of our perceptual and physically representations is that they provide new insights into our everyday experiences.

I took a watercolor portrait class with Amelia Davis as part of University of Utah continuing education during the summer of 2019. Wonderful class! I have so much to learn but Amelia made it very accessible. I tried to paint the same portrait in the style of other artists (Amelia Davis, Polina Bright, and maybe Liron Yanconsky?).
Posting here to remind me to get back into my art practice.

"Sea of Professionals"
Assemblage (ink on paper, wooden clothes pins, string)
Nation of Immigrants exhibition, Utah Cultural Celebration Center
September 15 – October 24 2014
It features my dad, my mom, my uncle Manuel, my aunt Jessielyn and my aunt Myleen. It is a piece about the stereotype that immigrants are domestic workers. It is contrasting that stereotype with the reality that professionals are also immigrating. Another theme is that my parents immigrated to the States separately and met here.
