You may be wondering why I placed foam pads on my clients lids. Read below and I’ll tell you why👇🏼

The reason for doing this during an appointment is either the eye lids are fluttering, they won’t naturally close all the way or, the light is too bright and my clients eyes are sensitive. Continue reading so I can better explain the differences in reasoning as to why I place foam pads on my clients lids.⬇️⬇️⬇️

Eyes fluttering
-This can be due to consuming caffeine before your appointment.
-Nerves causing your eyes to not relax.
-Talking causes the eyelids to sometimes slightly open and flutter.

Eyelids won’t naturally close all the way
-Everyone is so unique and that goes for eyelids as well. Some people have a condition called lagophthalmos. Lagophthalmos is when the eyelids don’t close all the way. This can also be called nocturnal lagophthalmos if it’s only when a client is asleep.

Some eyes can be a light sensitive, causing them to water. To avoid this I place the foam pads on top of the eyelids, which comfortably rest on the clients lids. Resulting in not being as exposed to the overhead lighting, also aiding in absorbing any tears that do occur.

It’s always my goal to keep my clients happy and comfortable when being serviced🫶🏼.

Do lash extensions damage your natural lashes?
The short answer is no..when applied correctly.

Read through the end to understand how lash extensions can help reverse damage from strip lashes, mascara & eyelash curlers⬇️⬇️⬇️

Lash extensions can be damaging, if they aren’t applied correctly.

-Meaning the lashes aren’t being applied to one individual natural lash. Lash extensions should be applied to one single natural lash. If a lash extension is applied to let’s say two or more natural lashes, this can cause discomfort and pulling. This is due to natural lashes growing at different rates, just like the head on our hair. Our natural lashes have a shed cycle and grow back to there full cycle over approximately 90days. Just like the head on our hair this is why we aren’t left bald. Due to the cycles staggering and some ending while others are starting or still in the process of growth.

-Another thing that can cause damage is lashes that are too heavy and long. Different natural lashes can take more density or may need less and shorter lengths.

Aside from improper application and weight of the lash extensions.

-Clients can also cause damage to their lashes by not washing properly and picking/pulling the lashes. Not 🧼washing the lashes blocks the hair follicle not allowing for proper growth through dirt, debris, makeup, natural oils, etc.

-Picking and pulling the lashes😖. This over time can cause permanent damage to the hair follicle over time stunting the hair growth. Just like when we wax our hair over time gets thinner and thinner. If this persists unfortunately lashes won’t be an option as there will be no healthy lashes to work with.

ON THE CONTRARY✨☺️
Lashes can actually make your lashes healthier! Yes you heard that right. Lashes applied correctly can help natural lashes become healthier. This is because wearing mascara and having to remove it can cause pulling and unnecessary rubbing. Sometimes taking off some natural lashes in return. Using an eyelash curler can rip out lashes as well as lash strips. Over time creating natural lash loss and unnecessary pulling of the natural lashes.
