We corrected her old microblading and gave some new life to her brows. Nano isn’t always possible for someone with previous microblading for a couple reasons 👇🏻

#1 The scar tissue can reject the pigment entirely.

#2 During the procedure the strokes may bleed more and cause a cooler healed result. This is correctable by using modifiers.

It is so important in my opinion to use inorganic pigments when performing nano strokes. A highly saturated line of pigment tends to blur and spread over time. Inorganic pigments are more easily removed by the body and simply fade rather than blur. I love using .mybrows pigments!

Microblading correction! 🤕🤕

This client had lots of scar tissue from her previous microblading sessions, but we were able to give her some beautiful soft powder so she doesn’t have to fill in her brows anymore!

Swelling and redness fade within 24 hours. Brows heal up to 40% lighter, sometimes more with unpredictable scar tissue. Can’t wait for the perfecting session!

Why don’t I outline?

Giving a hard edge to your brow, in my opinion, leads to less natural looking results, and that’s okay if that’s your preference! But in my studio we only aim to achieve hyper-realistic results, and that means a soft edge full of scattered pixels 😍

Read on for my tips on achieving a first pass like this! 👇🏻

#1 I don’t prenumb. Using a primary numbing makes the skin rubbery and create a less than perfect pixel in the skin.

#2 I go slow and steady at a perfect 90 degree angle. Understand that the clients’ skin determines how fast they take pixel implantation. Older clients as well as Fitz 1-3 will show the ink faster, while younger and Fitz 4-6 clients may need you to go over an area a little more.

#3 After you complete your first pass, wipe away the ink with a Q Tip in very small sections starting at the tail. If pixels are showing, keep going! If not, go back over that area with your machine.

#4 When going over your predraw it is EXTREMELY important that your needle hang isn’t so short that ink is spilling onto the skin from your cartridge. This will ruin your predraw and make it harder to know where to tattoo. You need a short, but clean needle hang. Clean the tip every time you get more ink!

#5 Make sure when you have the needle in the skin you hear a very soft “click” and feel a slight vibration in the skin. This means you’ve found the right depth in the upper dermis. Anything deeper will not show as perfect of a dot, and lead to more trauma than necessary.

Some NANO magic 😍😍

What is Nano?

Using ultra fine needles and a very delicate touch, we recreate the look of hair strokes using a Nano machine - this is NOT microblading. Nano is healthier and causes less scar tissue build up.

Who is a good candidate?

People with normal to dry skin are the best candidates, but people with oily skin can also get nano, they must understand that the strokes will not be as crisp once healed.

How long does it last?

I only use inorganic pigment with nano strokes, so that they do not last as long in the skin. This prevents the strokes from “fanning” and blurring over time. Even still, it is not uncommon for strokes to last longer than that, and this can cause strokes to blur after several years in the skin and removal/lightening may be necessary to achieve crisp strokes again. A touch up is generally needed every 1-3 years.

Microblading correction 🤕

When are you a good candidate for correction?

#1 Your old pigment has faded at least 70%.

#2 It had been longer than 6 months since you were last microbladed.

#3 You accept that due to the scar tissue from microblading a perfect result may not be achievable.

Very dark strokes/pigment CANNOT be corrected by anything but a darker pigment. A light brown cannot cover an ashy grey/black.

I would say about 40% of my work involves a microblading correction in some shape or form. PLEASE do you research before choosing that procedure. In most cases your skin cannot go back.

HEALED brows and right after touch up 👉🏻 it is expected to lose about 30% of your color after the first session and to lose about 20% after you heal from the touch up!

Healed results are more important than immediately after. Be very diligent when you are choosing your artist! If they don’t post healed results that is a huge red flag 🚩 🚩 🚩

Ultra natural powder brow for this lovely lady 🙌🏻🙌🏻

It’s a common misconception that powder brows will look obvious and unnatural, but this can’t be farther from the truth! In some cases powder can give an even more natural look than hairstroke method, depending on the desired outcome.

Using a .35 medium taper needle gives me beautiful pixels with minimal trauma to the skin. Ideal for those with mature or dry skin as too sharp a needle can cause unnecessary trauma.
