Woman Strong is about women of like circumstances encouraging women to be more active, eat better, and become healthier. Women are strong.

You can do anything you put your heart into. The first goal of Woman Strong is to bring together women of like circumstances so they can be encouraged, to know “If she can do it, so can I." They are strong physically. Most women do not realize the full potential of their physical strength. Woman Strong doesn’t stop there. Women are also strong mentally and emotionally. The issues women deal with on a daily basis are incredible.

The 3 Biggest Myths About Fat-Burning For Active Women - Girls Gone Strong 04/12/2018

The 3 Biggest Myths About Fat-Burning For Active Women - Girls Gone Strong I am really angry. I have spent my entire career firmly planted in the field of sports nutrition, where the goals are performance-based. In sports nutrition, weight-loss is an outcome of enhancing physical performance, not a goal unto itself. Because the goals of performance are mostly objective, at...

I saw a runner on here earlier asking:

“How do I keep running when my brain is screaming to stop?”

One simple but effective thing you can do is remember WHY you’re running in the first place...

What inspired you to start?

- Are you trying to lose weight?
- Training for a charity event?
- Setting an example for your kids?
- The list goes on...

Knowing your WHY is a huge power play you can use when my brain says STOP! 🙈

Thanks to Luke Tyburski for this little gem 🙏

January Woman Strong Woman is Meghan Jackson. Great job and awesome story!
Here's her story.
There I was standing in front of the mirror realizing my loose, comfy shirts were now my TIGHT shirts. My name is Meghan Jackson, 34 years old, mother of 2 boys, battling my weight. How did I get here? I have always been an emotional person and also an emotional eater with sweets being my number one enemy. I have tried several different diets and diet pills over the years but nothing seemed to work for me. At my heaviest, I was almost 200 pounds!! I had a lack of energy, low self-esteem and I was always in a negative state of mind. My turning point was when I realized my boys needed and deserved a healthy mom. I started setting 10-pound weight loss goals. Less intimidating for me. “Okay only 10 pounds then I’ll be in the 180’s, then once I reached the 180’s, okay only 10 more pounds then I’ll be in the 170’s. So on and so forth. I also educated myself on healthier eating habits and portion control with the help of my boyfriend, Jason. Once I started seeing my weight go down it made me feel like, “WOW, I am actually doing this!” I always hear and read about people losing weight and having success stories, and now I AM ONE OF THEM! I have been on this journey for 7 months and I am more than halfway to my ultimate weight loss goal. What has helped me most is I follow the old saying, SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE. I realized I didn’t gain all this weight in two months so why would I stress myself out to lose it all in two months. I hope my story encourages you to take that first step forward. Even if it’s a small step, it’s still a step in the right direction.

Well, 2017 is in the records book and 2018 is here! I’m sure many of you have set goals for 2018. A very common goal/s is to lose weight, eat better, or go to the gym more. Before you start working on these goals I want to show something in John 21:1-11. I’m paraphrasing of course but bear with me. In this setting of scriptures the disciples have been out fishing all night and have caught nothing. The next morning Jesus is standing on the shore and he asked them, “Have you caught anything?” They answered “No”. Jesus told them to cast their nets on the right side on the boat. When they did they caught more fish than their nets could hold. Next, when they went ashore, they found that Jesus had a fire with fish and bread waiting for them. Not only did Jesus have fish ready for them but bread as well. The very thing they worked for all night Jesus had already prepared and waiting for them.
My interpretation: “Fishing all night” represents what you worked for in 2017. "caught nothing" represents not reaching your goals. “In the morning” represents starting anew 2018. “Casting the nets on the right side of the boat” represents doing something different. All of the things your worked for in 2017, Jesus has them and more waiting for you in 2018.
If I may I would like to give you a couple tips for 2018.
First, ditch the weight loss goals weight instead work on becoming healthy. Fact: You don’t lose weight to get healthy; you get healthy to lose weight.
Second, stop following fad diet and exercise programs. Improving your health is a marathon not a sprint. Consistency is the key to unlocking good health. Fact: The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
I pray all of your goals are exceeded
III John 2
