In January 2025, the Eaton Fire ravaged Altadena, destroying over 9,000 structures and displacing countless families. To date, Castro has spent approximately $10 million acquiring 15 fire scorched properties in Altadena. His goal is to construct single family homes that will be sold exclusively to local families, ensuring that the community remains intact and vibrant. This approach contrasts with that of some developers who have shown interest in the area but may prioritize profit over community preservation. Castro's commitment is rooted in his desire to restore Altadena's sense of home and heritage.

Beyond purchasing land, Castro is actively involved in the rebuilding process. He has submitted plans for the first homes and is working with a small team to manage the development.
