This newly discovered fish has a very familiar look 👀

Researchers identified a new species of ghost pipefish nicknamed the "Snuffleupagus of the Sea" because of its resemblance to the beloved Sesame Street character. The fish, officially named Solenostomus snuffleupagus, is covered in long, hair-like filaments that help it blend in with surrounding algae.

Measuring just 4–5 centimeters long, the fish was recently confirmed as a new species after years of searching. Researchers say its unusual appearance likely helped it stay hidden in plain sight.
